Stick to your guns, Blizzard

Slowing things down and establishing Torment IV as true aspirational content is the right move. Keep the difficulty as high as PTR or tune it up a bit.

I’m firmly on the side of Blizzard here for what is probably the first time since release. Stick to your guns, Blizzard!

Even if I don’t think it’s the right move, I think they should at least try it once. If it doesn’t work, they should stop doing it and do a complete U-turn.

Something good should give good results, even if it is a little out of tune.

Extreme ends are not how to go. They should aim for a happy medium. We will have to see how it goes but right now I am predicting much gnashing of teeth and rending of garments. Also you want to differentiate yourself from POE 2 and that means a more casual approach. So we went from one end of extreme to maybe the opposite end of extreme to gear up. I dont think it will work out but we will see.

I’m not a fan of this approach. It once again artificially prolongs play time. I like new bosses, but the rest is literally just stretching out what was already there.

Feels cheap.

It won’t even do that because people will just quit. All Blizzard is doing is moving the goalposts here. The gameplay doesn’t change whether you’re one shotting or banging your head against the wall. The enemies don’t become any more interesting.

I know many people don’t want the trivial gameplay, and I totally agree, but this won’t change that.

Unreachable content has no place in a video game. Video games are supposed to be for fun.

be careful what you wish for. When blizz see massive drop in players and in $$$ from shops due to players quitting and frustrated and unhappy about the state of the game.

You told them to stick to their guns and keep it the way it is…

absolutely agreed. I wont mind small tweaks here and there - but yea, stick to it for once blizzard.

All i can hope is that they learned that people will cry about anything no matter what. So at least make their tears count for the game <3

S8 changes are not small tweaks here and there. it is 180 degrees U turn to what was before since S2

the point of the thread is to stick to the 8 changes, and i added i wont mind small tweaks for s8, but stick to the route.

so you also agree that current PTR are overtuned ?

nope. Not at all.

Only thing i would currently get behind are slight adjustment for the summoning materials. Not absolutely needed, but i could see that being a thing.

I say make level 2 one shot everybody. That will be so much more fun. Heck, throw in some random 1 shots while standing in town too. Because, you know, why not. If you want to make the game awful, why stop halfway, full send it…

Agreed. My only major gripe is we’re still living in scalarlandia, where we have a 15-20% multiplier on 5 legendary nodes, 5 more on glyphs, several skill scalars on gear that give anywhere from ~15-150% each, 1000%+ additive damage from half a dozen sources, and it means that no matter how many crunches they do, we’re still stuck with total damage in the billions and beyond. They need to fix that and make skill customization much deeper while improving skill synergies. I’d really like to see max damage come under a million and see builds be more about skill modifications and interactions, defenses, tactical play, etc. I’m probably dreaming though, just like how I’m dreaming for ever thinking they’ll give us 6 or more affixes on items that are all RNG instead of added via Tempering so that the endless item chase can become a real thing again. :joy:

Fun but Challenging.

People don’t have to play Torment 4. They should/could play what ever torment they feel Comfortable in, whether that be Torment 1 or Torment 3.

I said this and it made so much more sense then I realized when I typed it the 1st time.

People start their game as a low level, they play w/e difficulty they start in.

They get gear, they level up, they grind, they gain experience/knowledge.
They know where to go and what to do … a General Idea.

As they play the game they slowly BUT surely become more powerful, They find better gear/loot/gold etc etc…
They feel comfortable and Confident.
The Monsters become easier and Predictable.

They test their skills and try to go to the next level in Difficulty.
They Succeed! - They unlock the next difficulty.
The challenge is there but doable because you have a knowledge of where to go/what to do.
You can even TEAM UP with others to help play the game Together if you wish.

*If you fail to reach the next difficulty then you can get people to help or level up more.

This cycle continues to go up Up and UP.
You go to the next level in difficulty finding better loot/gear, maybe a mythic unique!
You gain of sense of Accomplishment

You Earned your way into that difficulty, you can HANDLE that difficulty. It’s not Boring, it’s A Challenge of Accomplishment.
Feel Proud of yourself!

Yes, I’d rather go through all of that then Any easy content that a person (a casual) can clear in less then 2-4 Days.

Man, they need to just add Candy Crush as a mini game to progress a persons journey then.

Diablo has never been about challenge, it’s about the item chase. This dev team wants to morph Diablo into something it was never meant to be and in the process, they are removing anything in the game that was ever remotely fun.

I’m sorry Mr. Game Developer, I didn’t know you had that kind of Incite on what the Dev’s are wanting to go with this game. Let alone you telling me that Diablo has never been about “challenge”.

Unless of course your speaking for yourself… Which I hope you are.

what a very subjective statement…

It’s a very factual statement.

It’s Factual because You say it …or…?

Because just cause you say it, doesn’t make it true.
(Unless your talking about your own personal experience).

Other then that, You can provide a link to your statement as facts.

Better yet, why don’t you tell me when Diablo has ever been challenging content? It’s not really like POE, or Souls Like games. It’s a looter.
