On a whim I picked up D1 on Bnets sale. There is really something magical hearing Deckard say that in it’s original form and not as a meme. Also I had forgotten about the tomes…
“Take heed and bare witness to the truths that lie herein, for they are the last legacy of the Haradrim”
Starting as a sorcerer = hitting yourself in the junk with a ball peen hammer.
Starting as a Rogue = Easy mode.
Played through the first 5 levels last night clearing each one. Nostalgia overload.
I did install the Diablo Torch mod which most notably for me added a shared stash and loot highlight hotkey. But kept pretty much everything else vanilla.

Ja Ja Ja
I bought it as soon as it was available too… just to have the entire Diablo collection in the Blizzard launcher
But I actually play it directly on GOG
What’s more… while Diablo IV crashes or I get sleepy… I start playing Diablo Original again

I think this is going to be the start of a full series campaign playthrough for me.

Actually sorc is easy mode not rogue even at level 1
Running out of mana, whiffing at the air with your staff, taking lots of damage. I think not.
Even guides say it’s the hardest, so if it’s easy what trick are you using.

The most difficult thing for the sorcerer in Diablo is the Butcher… the rest is always to pick up everything that falls… sell it and take advantage to buy mana potions from Adria… and if you have money… buy books to improve your spells.
Also… use every staff that falls or is available

Back in the day, Sorcerer was widely considered the easiest until you hit triple immunes. They were admittedly annoying, but abusing stone curse and cosplaying as a Warrior handles them.
It’s simple… cursed stone + golem = all monsters dead except Diablo who is the only one immune to the curse.
One must wonder how you all are getting these spells starting out a new playthrough.

Gotta go dumpster diving and spend a lot of time with that hottie down by the river.
But even if you cheese it with reloads, you gots no gold.
The first 4 dungeons are easy… only zombies, skeletons (with both axes and bows), Fallen Ones, Goat Men, Scavengers… all of them die from “STAFF hits”… the only ones that have to be killed with Skills are the “uniques”… that can be done with Firebolt (initial staff) or Chargebolt… which are staff that are usually found when killing monsters, opening sarcophagi or breaking barrels.
All chars gain immunity to knock backs and staggers when below 10% health and sorcs have the biggest mana pool for mana shield which is something that you can get access to right away from refilling vendors
Diablo 4 version is “I know what you are… Wanderer…”
I have D1 on my phone. I play it time to time.
Is it like old school Doom? If you have a screen you can play it anywhere?
