I’ve read some posts about people claiming to have been banned for using the Mobalytics desktop client while playing Diablo 4. There are still D4 YouTube channels advertising that it complies with all blizzards policies. Is this type of overlay software allowed or not allowed? I’ve heard the argument that Discord overlays are allowed so why not this? I’m just trying to get the correct answer so I know and so I can warn others if necessary.

I tried it, but didn’t like how it ran. It’s installed, but I’m not using it and I disabled it from loading at boot. You have to turn off overwolf too.

They claim that it is 100% safe to use, however, Blizzard hasn’t said a word about its safety.
The post is 1 month old, so there might be comments from Blizzard somewhere, but I’m not sure.

They probably won’t.
Historically this has been the case, even with things that were safe to use. That way they have the option of categorically prohibiting use later if they want or see the need to.

Sure, there is a point.
I did a quick research and didn’t find any documented cases of players getting banned for using third-party software. Moreover, most of these services only provide information that is already available publicly.
There could be some exceptions, of course. Or people just get banned because of other things. We never know
