Statues of Lilith is a crap mechanic

Remove statues of Lilith why can’t player character level up and get perma stats? This is just unwanted busy work and with each season one has to go around and find them all. There is already a map for statue of Lilith and it’s just solved day1.

Stop adding crappy mechanics that have just staying power in leveling, sense of discovery is gone forever once you level 1 character.

Remove this crap and just add those stats as part of level up.

Do it or don’t.

Do them all now. Starting with S2 you’ll never have to do them again. Doing them once is fine.

I agree, it’s needless busy work and IMO, only serves as a reason to have players in the empty open world more.

That’s why I only have about a third of them done and don’t care if I get anymore.

no you have to do them except altars and map completion rest carries over.

you get stats when you level up. you dont have to do it every season.

'“already” - this map exists since like 2 months. and also, since its done in day1, its not a big issue.

Incorrect. You only need to ever discover them all one time. If you had to discover them more than once, you made a mistake in not logging on your original character to preload all the statues for the first season. There was a splash screen that specifically recommended you do this at the start of season 1.

I imagine it won’t be an issue for season 2. They will probably just automatically be unlocked for you, having done season 1 already. I would like to see waypoints staying unlocked permanently though. I’m getting really sick of having to rediscover them all.

You are not forced to do them. Just live without the points tough guy.

The fact that blizz went from 1. do them all again and again every season forever —-> 2. do them once and although part will transfer into season and you will still be required to do 3/5ths of them every season —-> 3. do them once and you’ll never have to do them again … shows that there is an internal acceptance that it was bad design and implementation.

If it were good design, that shift from 1 to 2 to 3 would never have happened. Blizz tried something new and it did not work out. They implicitly acknowledge this.

I give them credit for trying new things and I also give them credit when those new things don’t work out the way they thought or hoped - and they fix or correct their mistake as in this situation.

However I cannot cotton to them ignoring QoL issues that we have known about since early open access late last year.

the main issue is they can just tie that same renown rewards and stats you acquire from statues to be part of level up milestones. Instead they thought of a method to increase busy work in turn increase their engagement charts to show to investors.

They need to understand artificially forcing players will not make them stay in the game. Start respecting players, start respecting their time also accept the fact players are the king and always treat them well and provide best user experience.

No you don’t. Once found, they are always unlocked, even in Seasons. Stop spreading false information.

No, the altars are good design. You explored the world. The bad design is making you do it every season/character, which was eliminated in S1.

By your logic, which is faulty - the campaign is also bad design. The campaign follows the same rules; you do it once, and future characters can skip it. You are 100% wrong here.

There is acceptance that people don’t want to enjoy themselves in this game, they just want to “beat” it, and therefore hate the idea of any reward requiring an activity other than repeat the same dungeon over and over.

Renown and lilith statues were both great designs that add a lot of fun to the game for people who don’t approach games like Veruca Salt. Oh you can get a map and use it to find all the statues on day 1? Awesome! You can also read the last chapter of a mystery book to know who did it.

Anyway, I hope they add checkboxes like the campaign one where you can have a new character start without renown or statues or map reveals (or pick and choose which ones) just like they made campaign replays optional.

Here are two possible incentive schemes:

(1) There are different things you can do in the game (dungeons, quests, whispers, helltides, sigils, world bosses, legion events, PVP, strongholds). You can do them in any order when they are available to you, they all give XP and items, and you unlock the stronger ones by beating milestone gateways, but it doesn’t matter which one you do because they all give the same reward mix, so you will just do the one that can be done the fastest with the least downtime.

(2) There are different things you can do in the game (dungeons, quests, whispers, helltides, sigils, world bosses, legion events, PVP, strongholds). You can do them in any order when they are available to you, they all give XP and items, and you unlock the stronger ones by beating milestone gateways, and they each give a different type of reward so that you get something interesting by participating in one vs another.

Is option 2 “forcing” you to do different content? No, it isn’t. It’s giving you a reason to do different content. By contrast, the dungeon objectives force you to explore the dungeon because you literally can’t move on until you’ve done what they require.

It’s called exploring.

Why not make everyone level 100 with all stats possible. While we’re at it all gear should be free and fully available. Maybe throw in a bot to do my game playing and I can check in from time to time to see how many accomplishments I have. Better yet I can just give Blizzard my money and they can post on my SM how well I did in the game without ever having to crack it open.

Starting in season 2 all of your renown carries over to all characters even seasonal.

Statues are A bad mechanic. There are many.

You already never have to do them again. Only once.

Only thing better than people complaining about everything is people complaining about problems that don’t even exist.

Among all things that are there you have found to spit on statues :+1:
Really?

I would have designed this unlock something non essentially like a great skin or cache with higher percentage on unique class drop.

But gating paragon behind it and stats is kinda cringe force to ezplore the continent.

Most other games make this a end game completion feat as opposed to part of progression dynamic.

I do wish that the exploration were tied to things like cosmetic flair instead of stats, but it’s fine with me as long as you only have to do it once. Fortunately, they made that the case beginning with S1, and the rest of the unlocks are going to be permanent for all starting in S2, so at least we’re back to the position of “do it once and never again”. I’m sure some people enjoy doing the renown grind over again, but I think for most of us we are glad to be done with it. I don’t mind doing sidequests again on rare occasions, but being forced was annoying. :v:
