So I have not played D4 since the second season. I did not like the balance or the state of the game at that point.
how is the balance between classes now?
is there a decent endgame?
is D4 worth playing now compared to season 2?

Its much better. Balance between classes changes wildly every season but the itemization is much improved and thereâs more options for an endgame. Its still got a ways to go but Iâd say its different enough from season 2 to give it another try at least.
Given S2 was one of the better ones, odd place to drop out. Is the âoddâ seasons that are have been problematic. Season 5 has had its issues and will be shorter but has been fun so far. The game has changed a ton if youâve not played since S2.
Yeah, now is a great time to jump in. A lot of new content and a revamp of itemization. Specially since the expansion is in October.
You may get a week out of this season
well honestly itemization changes - not a big deal, you will get tired of it after 1 season. This season is ultra casual, literally for 20h, same was in D3.
So i would recommend you to wait until expansion, when new content will appear. Nothing to do here now, VoH probably will be better.
The end game content is super easy. The game is casual. If thatâs something youâd like, then try it out. If you want a more hardcore ARPG, then POE is your best bet.
Itâs still the same game with minor tweaking around the edges. The number of bugs - particularly for the class I play (Necro) appears to be expanding at a far great rate then theyâre being dealt with. Loot is marginally different with tempering, masterworking, and greater affixes adding an extra layer of weighted ârngâ to the mix, resulting in significantly more frustration than elation - youâll brick more items than youâll gain as upgrades.
If you enjoyed S2 for the BL sorc then you might like this season because Sorc is back to being the top of the pile. If youâre not playing to get the best gear and you just want to defeat the content then you really wonât see much difference between S2 and S5.
I would say give it a try and see for yourself
Itâs definitely more fun in a way than season 2
No endgame though
i mean you purchased the game, so it wont cost you to just try it. ultimately only you can answer that question for yourself.
Play it and find out. You might be surprised.
You already have the game. Why not try it and make up your own mind?
nope its an waste of time as allways
I mean try it and find out. The itemization is better and endgame is better but class balance is still horse poop typical blizzard âtime in the sunâ take turns OP (barb went to back of the line, itâs sorcs turn now)
Buildcraft in this game is still buildcrap and itâs just meta following build into one ability you spam for 90% of the time with little to no ability to come up with fun builds that go anywhere.
You may enjoy it, Iâm glad I used self control and didnât pre purchase.
Forum is more fun than the game.
This would be easier to compare if you played Season 2.
If you hated Season 2, itâs not worth it to play the game FOR YOU. I would advise to play another game.
Short story from me:
Is the worst ARPG game ever, horribly annoying and bad designed.
But they are lucky (Blizzard) because out, there is nothing better than Diablo 4!
I tried many different alternatives in last few months (include Minecraft Legend) and JESUSâŚthey are even worst than D4!!!
Some of us donât want to waste more time than we already did. Just be clear and answer the question. If the game has become a solid game, then tell him. If itâs still got problems, tell him.
Your desire of balance between classes presents the typical âalways looking at other players and what theyre doing compared to meâ perspective. It really shouldnt matter to you as every class has its own way of playing.
Is the game worth playing? Yes. Seasonal is get in and get out when finished
Is the game worth playing longterm? no, Play the seasonal and dont return till next season. Dont even look at this game, as it presents nothing once the season is complete.
The design team has completely bent over to make things as easy as possible for almost the entire season and no challenge exists until you are literally at the endgame past the endgame further down to the real actual endgame. The game plays like a console video game at this point
Loot is blasted at your face in every possible way and nothing is difficult to get. Monsters are a joke and you dont even have to move from affixes as they do little to no damage. The game is about 90% just stand in place and hit your core attack.
The builds are all fun and cool except you get left a bad taste in your mouth when you find an item that breaks the game and makes any build good. I literally was playing a charged bolts build with decent ease and once i found the staff of lam, the entire game became so easy it was boring to even play.
Getting to 100 is not a challenge, Finding gearâŚany gear you want takes no effort, completing the season takes about 4 night alone and possibly 1-2 nights with friends.
So yeahâŚafter about a weekâŚyou really have no reason to play the season other than finding a 950 ring thats better than your 950 ringâŚ
GL
Why do you care? You wouldnât be able to compete anyway if you started that late.
And if you ask about the best classes⌠I think itâs Sorcerer followed by Rogue (maybe Iâm wrong)
Define âdecentâ.
Itâs better than before, but it depends on how much itâs good for you.
Maybe.
Season 2 was the one with the vampires, right?
I think the base game is at a very similar point or even better.
At least I have played more this season than season 2.
