Probably never. They reused code from D3 for the stash system and didn’t account for the problems a persistent world would create for that code. Now they apparently can’t extract and replace the code without causing significant problems for other areas of the game.

Might see an extra one in the next expansion, if we’re lucky. We’ve been told why they can’t, and that they were working on the problem. This was two years ago mind you.

It’s not like they got access to Microsoft engineers or anything. Lack of storage is why the seasons are so short. No room in stash to make more than 1 or 2 classes.

Stash Tabs when…
Hell freezes over.
I’ll say it again as this is a new post about an old, sore topic.
My solution:
Currently 6 Stash Tabs
- 3 Personal Tabs per Character
- 3 Shared Tabs
3 Personal Tabs should be more than enough to cover the storage needs for multiple character builds and alt spec gear, Tempering tantrum back-up gear etc.
3 Shared Tabs should be sufficient for Runes, Consumables & gear swapping, odds & ends.
Presently there’s 300 slots(cells) spread and shared across 12 Characters.
Changing 3 Tabs to Personal would increase it to 1800 slots(cells) with 150 Shared for grand total of 1950 available slots.
End of Season Mailbox 
Currently Players are hit with up to 300 items via mailbox after Season ends.
This would change.
Only 150 items would be in the & Characters would bring to Eternal what they had “with them” so to speak, in their Personal Stash Tabs.
- No additional “Memory” problems would occur as each Individual Character would load the game and burden every Player in the
of Sanctuary with… drumroll please: the same 6 Total Stash Tabs as we have currently.
No added overhead.
Massive increase in storage/Stash space.
Immense QoL.

Just as soon as they can find a way to charge you an exorbitant price for them and having them work without crashing the game every time you login or teleport somewhere.
They already have the first part done. My guess is the effort needed to implement the second is either too costly or no one has the ability to pull it off.
The “Don’t hoard bro. I’ve been playing for 23 seasons and I’ve never run out of stash space for any of my 150 toons” posters are coming. Ready yourself.

I agree that we should get much, much more stash tabs. I think 20 stash tabs would be ok.
But we also need much more inventory space.
Stop asking for a feature that can´t be implemented which as already explained by devs for a long time now, When ???

They haven’t given them to us because there is no need for them. If you are out of stash space you are collecting too much junk and as for character slots now that we have armory there is no need for any more then 6 After a season is over that character is useless and can be deleted.

Why cant they store items IN the armory? That’s literally the definition of the word
