You want both! Starless gives a 50x multiplier and the other is a 60% multiplier. Starless solves a big mana issue. Tal Rasha has CDR. It is a good pairing.
Starless not as good in PVP against opponents you need to one shot, but better against tanky barbs.

There is nothing a 2GA ring can do to compete with Tal Rasha’s 60%x multiplier.
Starless skies is kind of debatable, but Tal Rasha has 60%x multiplier and CDR on top of that. It is BIS no matter what build you are doing, it is the best Sorcerer item you can get, period.
2 GA ring is not 50-60% dmg over tal or starless… let alone starless resource benefit
Correct. For a blizz and firewall build, a 2 GA gold ring is still worthless in comparison to starless IMO because you have a major mana issue.
Im not sure if FO has mana issues so context is important
FO doesn’t need Starless Sky to spam Frozen Orbs, but it doesn’t hurt either and makes it easier. It is easily better than any 2GA ring for any mana-intensive Sorc build.
