As of right now, the ability to make gold as a SSF player is not enough to interact with the systems in the game such as Masterworking in a meaningful way. The cost is just way too high for the methods we currently have available to farm gold.
You can farm a couple hundred million in an hour or two and then lose all of that in a matter of seconds if you are enchanting or master working. The balance of how long it takes to farm gold compared to how fast you spend it using the normal systems is just way out of whack.
We shouldnât have to enter into a market full of dupes and gold thatâs been bought with real money to compete against others JUST to interact with the end game systems.
A super majority of people play as SSF without issue. You donât need to enter any market at all to make extremely strong characters in this game. SSF is already the default experience.
Do whispers on high torments, turn in get about 5 mil or more per drop. Do IH and get the gold on higher torments. I got nearly 100m when my clan leader ran me through T4 content in about 20 minutes.
I say give the people what they want. The people that want to play SSF can go play SSF. The rest of us can keep trading, hopefully with an in-game currency AH (donât bring up D3 because no one is talking about a RMAH). Itâs a win/win.
SSF mode wouldnât add anything to the game. It would only limit what you can do in the game. Youâre thinking theyâll add a buff, they wouldnât. This isnât LE.
What they would do, is exactly what they did in WoW, itâll be SSF mode in the name only, and theyâll restrict you from trading with other players. Youâd still be able to group up, find people in the open world, have your fun, but aside from that you couldnât pick up any items they dropped or trade with them.
Gold isnât hard to farm solo. It takes some time sure, but itâs not difficult by any means. What youâre asking for is a get rich quick scheme for solo players. There isnât one.
SSF mode would mean blizzard can adjust the game to those stats instead of what they are doing now which is balancing things around dupes/rmt/trading. since no one at blizzard actually plays the game, they only look at these âmetricsâ so when they see 18 gazillion gold enter the system day 1, instead of crediting it to dupes, they assume itâs an overly generous reward so they nerf those instead.
SSF mode normally is a mode where you decide to put some difficulty on yourself. You however are expecting some form of âbuffsâ for your SSF experience.
Asking doesnt hurt, but i think its pretty unlikely that this will happen.
that being said, the game can be played absolutely solo, with the exception of the dark citadel which is highly optional.
There are enough people that super rarely trade, and still do just fine.
And this has to do with the price of tea in China how?
Blizzard hasnât shown much work in general over two years of implementing these things. We all know they been big on promoting cosmetics and BP, so again itâs more a reality observation.
and you are trying to make yourself believe that why?
2 major system reworks, regular additions to the game which you didnt pay extra for.
I mean, you played s0, right? How is it even possible to say they showed no work except for mtx?
Well, kind of a lot. People complaining about mtx, while also clearly supporting it is kinda shallow isnt it?
do they put work into the mtx shop? hell yes. why shouldnt they? they clearly announced it as their monetization model for d4. Complaining about this afterwards just shows how bad of a customer sadly so many people here are.
Every single system is designed with MTX in mind. You donât see it that way is fine. But thereâs a bunch of us that do.
Whether itâs cosmetics that should be free, or battle pass changes. We got legacy gear twice, we had nerf dang near every season, loot nerfs as in drops to play longer. Season 5 increased drops to have the rug yanked from beneath us.
Do you honestly believe everything they do is designed to benefit the players verses increase their profits? I donât believe it at all. I think what we see today is an attempt to plug the dam of people leaving. I also think MTX is a major portion of their decision making.
Your opinion may be different. Thatâs fine. We just disagree
I canât tell. Is this post about envy or lack of self control?
All Iâm going to say; the root of all of your problems is the 3 month season. Theyâre never going to balance the game, if they keep changing everything.
But no Hohn, thats not âtoleratingâ thats âsupportingâ. D4 isnt a new game. We know prices by now. people obviously bought VoH as well. Of course we can complain about pricings all day, but as long as people buy it, and support it, it pretty much leads to nothing. Also doesnt have a lot to do with keeping your head buried in the sand btw. There are things we can do. I clearly supported the mtx, i purchased the base game, knowing there is an mtx shop, i purchased VoH as well, and on top of that i also purchased cosmetics.
i surprisingly saw quite a big bunch of people in game rocking their new reliquary wings. So yea, it doesnt matter how many people cry about that, as blizzard sees a net value in that.
Its all this back and forth of âbut blizzard was another company! â followed by Activision â Followed by Microsoft will change things!â The harsh truth is, no, that wont change. Arpgs are a small gamer market. You can tell that some people who play arpgs dont even have enough patience to farm for anything at all.
Eventually arpgs will degrade to mobile games over time, we will have to see.
Yeah. I know myself am guilty of paying the MTX prices for the cosmetics but they either have to show skin for females or be extremely cool with the VX (Visual effects for those wanting to know) going on. I would say 90% of what is there is pure garbage.
I have bought a few outfits, mounts and pets that to me enhanced my personal gameplay visually. Like the cat that has 2 colors for day/night and my pet cat LilyâŚhad to represent her in the game and she looks evil like in real life lol.
