Honestly, i think its a combo of nerfing sb and buffing the others slightly.
I think the sb needs to drop to about 110 to 120 pits and the others to be buffed - 100 to 110.
But i haven’t played voh so take this tongue in cheek

Totally agree! rotating all 3 elements to keep buffs is what everyone is doing now, ultimate skills are no longer part of most builds.
I tend to agree that the SB needs to be cleaned up. Overall it is a well designed class who just needs to be tuned to the right power level. There are several fun builds around to entertain the players, but the buggy core DPS mechanisms need to be dealt with.
I think debug the SB from Season 7 appears to be a good solution, they might want to use the 2nd half of S6 to test out a few new things or patching a few things on the five orignal classes and prepare for the next season. I am done with SB and Necro in S6 and playing with Rogue now, love the Overpower Flurry build.
They’ll probably just bump pit up to level 200 for the SB and call it a day.
I don’t think the Spiritborn is broken. I think the other classes are just very underwhelming and have been since day-1. They absolutely need substantial lifting. Most have boring abilities with mediocre damage. It’s nice to see something that doesn’t fit into that mold for once…
Thematically though I don’t like any of the D4 options. Where’ the Paladin or Monk? Spirtdude is like a skinny druid 2.0. It was an odd choice.
I dare to say majority of your SB is doing right around 100-120 . The outliers are doing 150. when you drop SB you have to be careful because mass majority playing SB is not actually speed farming 150, not even close.
you end up over nerfing for the majority of the SB player base when you only target the top 2% performer with perfect GAs and MW, likely RMT / dupping.
I get that, the power needs to be normalized to play time.
So the outliers probably are the same outliers in the other classes that at the top end of their gearing progression.
I expect sb to be slightly more powerful than the other classes but not to a point where it makes the other classes obsolete.
The other classes are in a good place, yes, but the other classes are still miles behind the design of the spiritborn. They’re still just not very fun to play. Or rather, it’s not that they’re not fun to play, but they’re boring at this point. The classes have existed, almost unchanged, for a year and a half, and they weren’t that fun to begin with.
Barely any uniques have been added, and the ones that have been added are oustandingly boring and niche. The new abilities they added are also spectacularly lackluster and boring.
Idk. While I do feel like this may be the best the game has ever been, outside of Season 5’s drop rate, it still feels like this game will be dead when POE2 comes out.
As a player, I look at D4, and I have no idea what the goal is. I don’t understand what my objective is as a player, or what I’m working towards. The classes I play feel clunky, limited, and boring, and the “new car smell” quickly wears off when you realize: “Oh God, I’m going to be stuck using [ X ] ability, even though I want to use [ Y ] ability”.
I really don’t think the game, in it’s current state, will entice anyone who played SB this season to come back next season. If they do come back, they will quit soon after.
And if people don’t like a nerfed spiritborn, then the OG classes really won’t tickle anyone’s fancy.
If it turns out that the mid-season balance is more of what we’ve got in the past, i.e., “Lacerate’s damage has been increased by 2%, Cyclone armor’s radius has been increased by .1 yards” type of buffing, then I actually do fear for the longevity of this game.
People are bored and fed up with being delivered, what is essentially shovelware, for AAA prices from a AAA studio.
I agree with most of your points, if not all the points you presented.
This is also how I feel where most SBs would sit without the bugs. Problem is there are aspects you wanna use but because they are bugged, you kinda had to gimp your SB.
So probably give or take Pit 85 to Pit 110 once these bugs are fixed.
Edit: Even without the bugs, I keep questioning myself, what if there are still bugs even after consciously not using the bugs or exploits though I’m only running Pit 90s, am I still doing more damage than intended? Lol. If it is, then SB might be even weaker than it should be
What does it matter really?
Anyone speed clearing 90’s is already capable of speed farming all content in the game at the moment.
Most speed farm builds are not 150 capable and instead are focusing on speed over damage and top out around pit 100 because they realize that that extra power has no place except the upper pit levels.
Once the SB Bugs get fixed he’s right back down where the other class are.
You can’t be serious with this.
The spirit born is doing Quintillions of damage buddy. That’s 24 zeros
1000000000000000000000000
It doesn’t get more bugged than that. Your on some heavy copium it you think that’s not broken.
Where I really see the other classes being underpowered is during leveling. Where SB kills everything including hellborne, maiden, etc. Other classes it’s almost mandatory you twink them just to not suffer through getting to 60.
Anyone but not everyone.
It’s a matter of damage output.
If your build can speedrun a pit 90 in less then 2 minutes. Than nothing else in the game is even a challenge.
Pit 90 optimized speed run builds outperform those 150 put clear builds on everything else in the game besides pit.
They are faster(literally) and better optimized for the actual difficulty of the game.
Not everyone is as elite as you, able to speed-run Pit 90 with other classes in under two minutes. High pit should remain a true challenge for those who enjoy pushing the limits. Low pits are for leveling glyphs. For players who can already speed-run Pit 65, they can handle all Torment 4 content. So, I don’t see your point there. If every class with a semi-decent build could actually speed-run Pit 90, like you mentioned, I wouldn’t see an issue. But right now, that level of performance just isn’t realistic for a lot of players.
Pit is being used to gauge player performance level right now , so yes correct and working as intended.
I don’t see the big thing about “challenge”, this is a loot hunt based hack and slash A-rpg that focuses heavily on character progression, power fantasy and systems. If you want to satisfy your desire for challenge Arpg is not the ideal genre to do it.
You want to play Souls like RPG instead. Both titles such as Black Myth Wukong, and Elden Ring would be the most recent for those that really want a “challenge”
Lol there is a BIG Difference between a Souls like and Zero Challenge.
If Souls like is considered challenging, D4 is currently at the polar opposite at the moment. With it being so easy there is basically Zero Challenge.
That leads to boredom and people quitting because the game is too easy.
Not sure how you leaped from “The game is currently not challenging at all” to “if y’all want a souls like your morons”
No one is asking for a souls like we just want to play the game without feeling like we have all the cheat codes from GTA V turned on
I disagree. The top sorc build is struggling to clear 90s, unless you use a bugged interaction with Fireball and Gloves of the illuminator or Shatter douple dipping (another bug).
Basically, the only builds performing at expectations (IE, around Pit ~100 in 4-5 minutes, as my definition) are bugged. Sorcs probably need to be 2x stronger than they are right now, should Pit 100 be the target. That’s something I am certainly looking forward to hearing tomorrow.
all i know is sorc is bottom of the barrel this season: para 285 3x mythic 12/12 gears and i can barely do a pit 80. i was doing pit 100s on my sb using leveling build and trash gear: now i do 150s in less than 5 mins. even if they left s5 sorc alone, we still wouldn’t even compare to sb.
I don’t really care about challenge in these type of game. i prefer it to be fast paced blasting because I am after power fantasy, and system progression. I enjoy seeing my character constantly growing in power via loot hunt and systems. That is all
Since the base game is scaled to pit 65 everyone is fast if they can clear pit 90
