Spiritborn class butchered in Season 7

I could easily clear pit 98 and now I can barely clear the first set of monsters. I was hoping to complete my Spiritborn build in the eternal ream (I thought the odds of mythic uniques was extremely low in season 6 so I couldn’t get the gear I wanted) but now I’m like what’s the point. I guess this is a good time to say bye. So disappointing. If you are going to reset everything and want people to start a new chapter then you need to improve the odds on mythics and GA’s to make sure everyone can actually complete their builds within a season.

I too play on the Eternal realm as a Crushing Hand Spiritborn. I haven’t had a chance to play post patch. How do Spiritborn feel now ?

Absolutely awful. Might as well be playing with a sorcerer. They didn’t just nerf it. They nuked it.

Update: Sorcerers can now clear pit 100 and above while Spiritborn struggle immensely at pit 90-100. Spiritborn are now the weakest class for season 7.

SB is still in a decent place, it just no longer relies on bugs interaction to cause it to do absurd damage. So course it going to feel worse now when it had easy mode last season/

Spiritborn is in a very bad place, totally destroys the fun of the season for me. Other Classes feel clunky and not fun anymore but spiritborn simply does no damage anymore

Now i know spiritborn needed adjusting but to charge players for an add on and a new class and then to make the new class more useless after just 1 season is a joke, blalance it yes, destroy it No… now necros are about 1 shotting everything rogues doing billions of damage and my spiritborn barely scraping together 50k damage on torment 1… i am done with this game and playing it has reminded me why i paid £30 for POE 2 early access… what a joke

I’m trying to make an ultimate/Devourer build but it’s not going well…everything feels bad and it’s taken me way longer to get to T4 than usual.

Crystal clear that the bug would be fixed

Spiritborn is unplayable this season after paying $100 for dlc to play it recently. Why nerf it so much?

SPIRITBORN has fallen so low…
that is on par wit the Sorcerer.
from the best class in the game, to be the second worst after sorcerer.
from SPIRITGOD to SPIRIT-TURD

100% this, they nuked the class, i played since d4 launch every season, and every season there is a class that is head and shoulders above everything else, and i guess thats ok, i have not a issue with that, as long as the other classes are also playable and can be competitive, this is just not the case, even after 7 seasons Blizzard cant get the class balance right, WHY…, this is frustrating like hell, i knew spiritborn would not be like last season, and thats ok, but what they have done now to it is just horrible, i have another Barb and necro who just destroy everything, its not even in the same league as spiritborn or sorc, and while i am happy that the Barbarian is back, after being gutted for 2 seasons, i just get frustrated more and more with the game balance, i already did not want to play s7 after having played PoE2, but i gave it a honest shot, and i think i am done, i cant no more, Blizzard get the bloody CLASS BALANCE RIGHT!!!, fixing bugs and out of hand interactions is 1 thing, but totally gutting and destroying a class is something else, just as they did with the Barbarian for 2 seasons…

how difficult can it be to just have a decent class balance…, this problem is not present on Last Epoch or PoE2, yes there might be builds that stand above others and are the FOTM and that is totally ok, but non of them are useless or feel like you want to just say f… this!!!, every class should be able to do the end game content and have a competitive build or 2, and i do not mean to make the content easier, but have a actual class balance, this just doesnt exist in D4, and i know how to build a char, i have tried and i just cant be arsed anymore, i want to like this game but damn blizzard you make it impossible

Loved my Quill Volley build in S6, ran with the same build in S7 but omg it is absolute garbage now in the pit past tier 100, should rename the weapon Rod of KepeLack  nerfing an item is adjusting it from 3.00 to 1.50 but 0.50 is ridiculous :rage:

I think there is a huge problem with Spiritborn currently. If you use community builds like Quil Volley, Crushing Hands, Payback, Rake, or Rock Splitter Thorns; you need to have a good weapon Rod of Kepeleke or Sepazontec with Max uniq aspect. These weapons are behind Duriel and Andariel. Other classes can easily go higher tiers without requring godly gears. These weapons are honestly doing viable those builds without those weapons you do not hsve much options. I am playing SB with lvl266 currently, I did not get any good Rod of Kepeleke. I did not get any gloves with GA on crushing hands. You need to have godly gear to clear the high end content. Hopefully, there will balance update in mid season for Spiritborn. I reached out to 300lvl last season, but this season I do not enjoy as much as last season. it is sad that to see while others speed running pit lvl 150 while you can barely do pit lvl 100 with off meta builds.

The biggest issue with this class is once you play it, you can tell there was a lot more done to it than mentioned. This causes a trust issue

If Rod of Kepeleke is equipped you have vigor cap \ re-gen cap. No matter how much you add “vigor per sec” or “resource generation” or “skill points” added to Vigorous and Velocity (remove all points from Velocity and it stays enabled on the buff bar)

Prodigy Tempo - S6 it would recycle after hitting S7 there is a 0.9-1.5 second delay before it resets (they keep messing with it in the background as I’ve seen it almost 2-3 seconds)

Thorns - No matter how much you add with gear or glyphs including Bastion it doesn’t seem to help, I have Hubris at 71 and Spinney Skin with Bastion and at most I have seen in combat was around 1500-2000 Thorns; and I have Mirage maxed out and it should increase with Prodigy Tempo. Also Dex passive 17.4% Dodge chance. But last week (first week Feb 2025) I seen it enabled and got over 3k Thorn’s but it was quickly changed (all in the background of course)

Paragon Board - Vicious Shield was moved from what I can tell “offence” board to “defense” or “utility” board. Does it still work? Maybe, but because of all the other issues its hard to tell.
Several other boards (if not all) had skill points moved around and the passives for paragon were changed. Overpowered used to be under Dex or Strength but now its under Willpower with Healing received.
Strength - 650 = 13% Crit Chance + 130+ Armor
Willpower 376 = 28.2% healing + 94.2% Overpower (which use to be with Strength? and would see +200%)

Larger number of glyphs had a flat 5% increase damage in S6, but now I can only count 4 and not on the same glyphs as before

Witch Powers do not make up for it as I have Wicked Packed, Killing Wand and Witching Hour with Abysmal, Purging, Wave of Woe, Hex of Whispers, Hex of Specialization with Vengeful. Around T4 70-71 I’m standing there beating monsters with a wet noodle, if I run away then run at them I can kill faster.

Now I get it, I work for a large organization as well, but going through Fallout 76 Jan 29th 2018 Demolition Expert 75% nerf and following updates after which made most if not all Perk Cards useless (very small increase)
ESO November 2020 Update 27 and Update 28 completely gutted Champion Points and all Item Sets (gear) the following updates with the famous saying
“to bring them more inline with _____” (insert best for case by case)

People that play games and willing to spend money are exhausted with this cycle of “look this game is fun” “oh look, its nerfed to the ground now” “oh look they buffed it again/sorta”

I don’t know how the industry has ended up like this; but if gaming studios want to survive they need listen to the quiet majority. The loud minority which will be on this forum saying “this is to easy” “get gud” “XYZ is OP” are steering companies into bankruptcy. With that said; there was nothing wrong with this class in S6, it was only on the top and YES Mr Dunn, all other classes should be increased to match it as now this class is NOT one of the best but one of the worst.

Thank you

edit: forgot to mention S7 I see almost 150k Attack power (it does nothing) and S6 it wouldn’t get over 45k (and felt better)

Probably like most people I’m very disappointed how much Blizz have totally ruined the Spiritborne, I have 3 Mythic Uniques (although only using 2) all gear fully Master Worked and I’m relegated to only play T3, I can’t play T4 and rarely die, but I just can’t kill anything (well at least not quickly) I stand there nuking away sometimes for several minutes even on just plain mobs. I see other classes run into mobs and their all dead in seconds. Like others, I wondering why I paid for this release with the new Spiritborne only to have it’s abilities totally squashed.
Cmon Blizz at least give us some ability to kill stuff in T4, how do you expect us to complete the season.
