If you’re going to copy and paste a class from Diablo 3, should have brought over the crusader.

Oh another dumb dumb making some stupid post thinking he slick
guy is literally just trolling for attention.
You got a skill like Fist of the Heaven and Falling Sword from the Crusader and on top of it Block Chance. I can’t understand your demand. You’re totally covered with the Spirit Born.
I realize the Spiritborn is not what YOU want, but you keep making threads and posts complaining about it. I suppose you have the right to do that, but it seems like you are super upset about not getting a Paladin. We knew we were not getting one. They said it would be something new.
I just don’t get the hours spent doing this.
That is all I can come up with.
It is like being upset that water is wet because you wanted it to be something else. They said no Paladin. We did not get a Paladin in this expansion.
lol, all those threads calling the Spiritborn something it is’nt are so funny
Why do people focus so much on the new class? The expansion is not just about the new class. There are new storylines, class reworks, new gear, new maps, and more. Look at past Diablo games—many players will try out the new class, but there are also many who stick with their favorite class.
Well screw the jungle monk, im hoping druid finally gets his fire elemental skills like Armageddon, Fissure, Volcano, etc.
Also rogue getting assassins traps would be bonkers.
it do look just like monk. but without the cool wave of light and auras, but it might.
It is the monk they just slapped on animal effects to each attack. If you don’t see it I just don’t know what to say.
It’s a martial artist, as is the monk. That’s about where it ends.
You don’t have 1000 fists/thunder or whatever it was. You don’t have teleport around, you don’t have the whirlwind or pull in, there’s literally not a single monk ability from D3 that’s on this class in D4, and all of the animation is new and bespoke for this class, so they didn’t even ‘copy’ anything.
Just because it’s a martial artist, doesn’t make it the same class.
If you actually watched the game play footage from the streamers, you’d realize that it’s NOTHING like the monk.
In fact, it’s a multi-class class.
Where the other classes are a single class with variations of their power, this class feels like it can be 4 different classes. Each one as its own unique pros and cons, look and feel, movement and more…
It’s quite cool. Bring on the centipede.
actually you kind of do.
-
there is eagle skill that functions similar to that of cyclone strike which pulls enemies in and kills them
-
The Jaguar Ult which is called The Hunter, is a reworked version of 7 sided kick ult from the MOnk. If you read the tooptip, even the number of attacks it deals is 7 X LOL.
-
The triple generator from the Jaguar is essentially deadly reach from the monk, with the 3rd strike that does extra damage.
All is good though. I love the Monk class in D3 and this feels at home. But when you mix in spirit guardian, it no longer feels like a Monk anymore.
So everything in life that have 7 attacks in it is monk
Maybe after all, the future is mixed up, and its the monk, that is the Spiritborn 2.0 =o
Look an Apple! Its almost round!
Look an Orange! Its almost round!
But but they’re not the same ;p wait, its the same damn fruit!
Things will appear similar, and there’s examples in the existing classes too.
Pulverize == Upheaval for example.
Just because things are ‘similar’ doesn’t mean they’re the same.
I never said they are the same. That is where the inspiration came from. Which is perfectly fine. You find inspiration which fits everyday in life . There is nothing wrong with that.
@Exxy above - I wasn’t trying to hone in on the number 7 specifically, but if you just look at how the Ultimate deals damage, you will see it essentially a inspiration of 7 sided kick which the monk does. But the damage is now fire, and with a swirl animation instead of flashy kicks happening in 7 directions.
Well , Its possible
But i still dont get it/understand the “Need” to compare every small thing from a class, to other things
The package of the class, is a mix of all different things, that creates its identify, the Spiritborn class =p
Except that the mechanics of it are ENTIRELY different.
Seven-sided kick will attack a single target 7 times, or it will attack 7 targets once each, or somewhere in the middle (and it’s random, not circular).
The tiger will attack in a circle and its attacks are likely aoe, so you hit everything in the area 7 times no matter how many enemies there are.
Just because it’s hitting 7 times doesn’t make it remotely similar.
I get the ‘inspiration’ part, but I think it’s more a matter of spiritborn and monk BOTH getting their inspiration from martial arts (and Street Fighter). I don’t think they pulled inspiration from the monk class itself.
sure, I mean they never admit exactly where they took the inspiration from for this new class. I think a lot of people did ask them this question. They just said they took inspiration from everywhere, previous games, movies, other game.
The reason why people are saying Spiritborn is closely resembls that of a Monk is because it is LOL… and it is not a bad thing. (Monk was extremely popular class in D3). A lot of streamers think this way too. No one is asking for a Monk class , and the dev never meant to make a Monk class for VoH as well.
In contrast, all you are seeing is people crying all day that they didn’t get a sword and board paladin / crusader class. For me, I like a holy class too. But it is not that big of a deal.
