Hey I’m Fenryr, I’m having the same issue since launch I’m getting kicked back to menu with all my characters that I log without a route progam or vpn and is strange cause I can play any game of blizzard.
After season 2 starts i cant login to all my eternal chars. When i create a new eternal char is the same. Only my new season char can login.
Would be awesome to get a blue post acknowledging the issue. We still cant play the game.
I have this same issue, now. I logged in with my S1 primary character, had transfered a bunch of items from Season 1 and was sorting it. About 10 minutes into this process, I very suddenly got disconnected. That was 4 days ago.
When I tried to log back into it, it now just briefly shows a black screen before booting me back to the main character select screen. It took 4 days for support to tell me to just watch this forum post. This critical bug has apparently been around since launch, and there’s been no update for 4 months? So no one at Blizzard can look at the character and get it unstuck? Really?
I won’t be joining any new season if I can expect characters to become permanently stuck, with support that does nothing but link to this thread where they haven’t given any kind of update for 4 months and zero help to anyone.
Thanks for sharing. We are stuck with unplayable characters. 0 help from blizzard.
Needlessly to say, will not be creating or playing other characters knowing i could loose them at any moment.
Similar issues here, very hard to connect, 1/10 attempts to connect is successful and then latency is around 1,500 msec on an average. Any actions like salvaging items or craft gems triggers a disconnect. Blizzard needs to address this immediately. We paid almost 100 for the ultimate edition plus extra money for the accelerated BP and we can’t even play the game. Not cool.
After 5 days now, it’s clear Blizzard has not actually looked at my account at all. We already covered me trying to change difficulty to get in, and the latest response from Blizzard was that it might be stuck because it’s “on a difficulty not yet unlocked on that character.”
it’s a level 86 that was in T4 since ~ level 65. After nearly a week, they haven’t done the most rudimentary diligence, nevermind making any effort to fix it.
I am now having this problem. I was playing, got randomly kicked with a message about my character not saving and to try back again in a few minutes. It’s now been 2 hours and I cannot get onto my seasonal character, but I can log into my eternal characters just fine.
Same here. I can log into my eternal characters, but season is off limits, for 3 hours now. And from reading other people’s posts, I might as well just go ahead and uninstall the game. Blizzard won’t do anything about it…
I was able to make a seasonal hardcore character. So it appears they separate your characters into distinct sets of characters and one set will be affected while the other 3 are not. Eternal, Eternal hardcore, Seasonal, Seasonal hardcore. It makes sense because your stash and stuff will all be shared within that set of characters. So the bug will just completely lock that set of characters from being played.
Their implementation of this inventory system is atrocious. MMOs, that have hundreds of characters playing together, at the same time, have bigger stashes than D4. PoE (if you want to compare apples to apples) has a ridiculous amount of storage and their system doesn’t cause any issues with the game. Diablo 4 lags as hell every time I try to open the Season 1 tab in my eternal’ stash. I want to play the game, I was really enjoying this season. This is really frustrating.
From my experience, y’all might as well give up on hoping anything will happen. During Season 1 (in August), my game froze while fast traveling, then crashed. I was never able to log back onto that Seasonal character. I could log onto my Eternal characters just fine, or create new ones on the Seasonal and play them, but who wants to invest time into a new character just for them to randomly become unplayable? I tried here and there for two months to log into the Seasonal character, but was never able to. I gave up on the game, so no clue if the character was playable once it transferred to the Eternal realm after the season ended. Disappointing.
I got a ticket response. Still can’t log in 26 hours later. I hope there’s some kind of EXP boost or something because if and when it gets fixed, sorry isn’t going to allow me to play this season and complete the pass or anything and it isn’t going to give me time off work to actually play again.

I just wanted to let you all know that this issue is currently under investigation. I do not have an ETA on a resolution to the problem, just that it is being investigated. As of yet, we have not been asked to collect any specific information from those who are affected but if they ask us to collect information like logs and such, we will update this thread with those instructions.
There is currently no potential troubleshooting you can perform as we have verified internally that it happen on the affected accounts. If that changes I will also update here with the provided steps to resolve.
Beyond that, please keep an eye on this thread for any other updates as we get them.

Just to mention im on console. So im unable to provide any info or logs other than everything is updated and i can log in fine in my daughter’s account using the same ps5 and network.
can i get a full refund on everything in the game then please because yall literally are scamming mfers. i can’t play a game i paid too much for nor use cosmetics i paid too much for and you just want us to wait for months on end. this is literally a scam
It’s not literally a scam, but it’s literally something that should be addressed for those experiencing it. I have now been locked out for over 50 hours. Of that time, it was 2 of my only days off in a busy schedule. I missed a lot of leveling and world bosses (one was literally 7 minutes from spawning when I got booted). I would like to see some sort of compensation in the way of experience boost or something to catch up for lost time on the season pass.
Is there no way you guys can, as a temporary fix, get into and fix the state of our characters? It might not be a fix for the bug that causes it to happen, but it would help people that have been locked out of characters. For me it’s been over a week, but others have had this problem for months with no resolution or help.
It’s been 75 hours for me. If people truly have months long on this, there should absolutely be something to address the fact we paid for the game, paid for the season pass (in my case the premium one), and are not able to play it.
