Sound Completely Gone

I don’t know what else to try.

I started playing VOH last Sunday. I was having a blast! Didn’t have any issues (except the game crashed once on me) and have been playing it all week.

Last night, finally got the kids to bed, and start the game up. No sound. At all. Best part? It’s only Diablo 4. Everything else is working perfectly.

I have tried:

  • Restarting game (probably over 20 times at this point)
  • restarting computer
  • reinstalling game
  • clearing cache
  • clearing config
  • forcing audio system restart
  • updating BIOS
  • checking all drivers, including sound drivers.
  • unplugging/Re-plugging headphones
  • checking sound preferences and default devices
  • making sure sound was enabled in game
  • making sure appropriate devices in game was selected
  • disabling sound devices and re-enabling them
  • disabling spatial sound
  • disabling “allow programs to take control of this device”
  • disabling any and all overlays
  • disabling any third party sound software (NGENUITY hyperx software)

None of that worked…. So, I saved my dxdiag and msinfo information and submitted a ticket to blizzard (attaching both) and telling them everything I tried and that it didn’t work.

Blizzards response: you did what we would say do and more. Sorry, I know it’s frustrating. Maybe you can find an answer online or take your PC to a repair shop. Happy adventures!

It’s literally the O N L Y software in my whole damn PC that doesn’t have sound.

(And no, it isn’t muted in sound mixer either)

I don’t know what to do.

Close down sound blaster file

Yup…
Alot of code breaking other code atm in the realm.

My sound goes off every now and again but recently less frequently. The only fix I have found is to restart the computer. Btw also only happens when I’m playing D4. AMD components. Middling high-end.

I had this bug 6 months ago.
For me disabling and enabling the video card from the PC settings exactly before launching D4 worked. I couldn’t make another action after reenabling the card, I had to immediately launch the game for the sound to work.

It seems that sometimes the audio card is disabled ingame and you can’t activate it manually if you don’t quit the game.

Now the bug is gone. I think the bug disappeared after I played a while with headphones.

Hope it works.

You arent using the Asus Z390 Gaming mobo by chance are you?
