With the OW2 debacle it’s clear that CXO’s looking at spreadsheets will only allow things to move forward if they can be sufficiently monetized, i.e. the player base appropriately pilfered.
I will wait for a retail expansion or two, or a sale. The trust just isn’t there for Blizzard to meaningfully support the game for the long term. Not anymore. No, the battle pass is not “support”. It’s there to satisfy CXOs and shareholders. I believe the devs would prefer to do it for free. Hello Games has done 1000x for free in No Man’s Sky.

Blizzard creates Diablo 2 Resurrected for a small but strong fanbase.
Blizzard works on Diablo 4 for a decade.
But soon as Blizzard “fails to uphold a promise” for the dying game, Overwatch, ohhh lordy have mercy, they are no longer trustworthy.

Again, Overwatch is destined for abandonware in the near future. You guys were lucky you even got OW2 content for free.

Im not going to pass on a game that is good right now, worth my money right now, becuase I’m worried about some whatif maybes down the road.
If the game stops being fun in a year or even a few months, I’ll stop playing it then. But in 2 weeks I’ll be having a blast with it. Enjoy your sulking.

Saying “I’m not going to buy on launch I am going to wait for an expansion or sale” is not quite the serve you think it is. If you really felt so strongly about your convictions you would boycott all Blizzard games completely.
At least you appropriately directed your anger at the real villains, the CEO and shareholders, instead of the poor devs.

Honestly I think the truth is they will cave and buy the game when it comes out. Just like all the other people who claimed to refund or said they wouldn’t buy it. They want to play the game. They are just in their feelings and lashing out.
