I read how folks get weak and I wonder if they mean “rogue”, but then yea I see comments about how rogues are weak? So here are some videos … at level 72 (mind you I’ve been finding this easy for awhile now, I just finally hit a point where I cant stay quiet). This all started when I killed the butcher in less than 10 seconds.
so at Level 72, what should be a challenge?
30% crit rate, 240% crit damage (I actually went low for some trades, my max is 322%)
1 level above?

No? too fast, how bout a elite 74 that roams the hell tides:

Your right, that 74 was already half health… how about 76ers x 3:

Lastly 72 vs 80…
youtu.be/OVDEKO92m1E - I admit I died in this dungeon, but it was the waller flukes…
I remember when these dungeon bosses were epic battles… but like wtf? I am getting bored. I am also getting worried cause the WT4 mobs are at 73… so I am slowly going to get less and less xp.
Dude, you are getting the whole point wrong. Dungeons are supposed to be switched to nightmare with 20+ level. Why are you comparing something within 10 levels of yourself?
Anything which is not more than 20 levels above you is not worth mentioning.
He isn’t being sarcastic. The complaints you’re reading are about nm 50 and 70+ dungeons. The very upper end of content. People can make all kinds of builds work in the open world at tier 4 and in normal dungeons. The complains are about top tier nightmare dungeons.
Also, concerning open world mobs: they scale with you all the way to 95. Once your gear is pretty well optimized you might actually lose ground to them as you level if you have good gear early because they will scale faster than you. Lvl 75-80 seem to be the sweet spot and then probably again at 95+ but I’m not there yet.
I have to admit SgtSlaughter has a point, there’s currently no reason to go beyond level ~80 nor fighting monsters above your level. Gear can max out as soon as level 60 and all you’re basically doing at higher level is increase your chances to find said gear, and reducing the inherent penalties to damage and armor for fighting higher level monsters, up to level 100.
That said, claiming the game is too easy but you’re dying vs monsters, even if it’s just shenanigans and BS, is a bit ignorant.
Ahhh well… I showed my lvl 80 encounter which is 8 levels higher than me, the battle didn’t last 10 seconds and that was the dungeon boss. I think elites in the mobs last a longer.
Comparing that to level 1-40 where dungeon bosses made me pull up sleeves and figure out patterns and strategies that might last minutes. And that’s when the dungeon boss was the same level.
No it shouldn’t continue…. This isn’t a souls-like game. Generally, arpgs are more power fantasy and outgearing as much as possible.
Personally my goal is generally to have some gear and ability combo that kills things before I ever see them on screen. I wanna hear crap dying 2 rooms down the hall lol
Pushing higher tier nightmare dungeons should be done when you reach level 100, because then you stop scaling. While you’re scaling, might as well do dungeons around your level since you can still be gaining XP.
We all thought the same thing, then we hit NM 70+ and one skeleton archer 1 shots you no matter what, lvl 10 shadows, 85% armor, 12k hp, dmg reduction from being in a trap…it doesnt matter.
Regarding nm dungeons, this is not an increase of difficulty in combat mechanically - rather the opposite.
Just a check if your gear/build can oneshot/permacc mobs before they oneshot you.
In general i agree with op. Combat in early game is much more enjoyable than endgame stuff. I had hopes it will be different than d2/d3 because in early development d4 was designed as souls-like game but it didn’t make it.
At least with melee rogue there is something to do during fight, but i couldn’t imagine just spinning for hours like barbs do
