I am using the “Destruction” glyph on my Ice Shards sorcerer, but the level 19 glyph has no discernable effect.
While the tooltip reports I should be getting a 61.9% boost to crit damage with core skills, my crit damage numbers appear the same whether I have the Glyph equipped or not. I tested this by starting a Nightmare Dungeon with the glyph equipped, running about half the dungeon and noting my crit damage figures and clear time. Then I unequipped the glyph and left the slot open and tried to compare any differences. I found none.
Crit damage numbers displayed over enemies looked the same whether the glyph was equipped or not. I certainly didn’t see a 60% difference in crit damage, which I would think would be significant enough to notice. Enemies, both mobs and bosses, seem to die at the same rate whether the Glyph is equipped or unequipped. If I examine my detailed stats, I see no boost to crit damage for core skills whether the glyph is equipped or unequipped.
There is also no visual indication that the secondary effect of the skill, which provides for an increase to all damage dealt to an enemy, is working.
Perhaps others can weigh on on whether this is working for them? I’d be happy to be mistaken, but I’m left wondering if this is currently working as intended.
I will also note, that unlike Necromancer, the “Crit damage with Core” stat does not appear in your stats, further leading to the idea that it isn’t active.
Maybe the tooltip is bugged, not showing on the stat sheet?
I could swear I see a big difference when I use it.
I found this post yesterday because I seem to have the same issue. My core skill is Chain Lightning (at least for now). I didn’t even know there was a “Crit damage with Core” stat because I didn’t see it in my character details. I regularly get crits. I see the damage numbers. I should have had a significant increase with my leveled up Destruction glyph. From what I can tell, it has absolutely no effect whatsoever. I definitely noticed differences when I tweaked vulnerable damage, etc. Given where I can put the Destruction glyph right now, I should be seeing a significant improvement in crit damage even if some of the additive damage is lower or vulnerable is a bit lower depending on where I put it, but all I see is my sorc is weaker if I use my Destruction glyph. In one position, it should be making a large difference, but I see no difference.
I think I might be wrong about this now. I made the change, logged out and in again, and I now see a difference. I have no idea if this had anything to do with it. I doubt it. It’s hard to tell with Chain Lightning. In any case, it would be nice if this were reflected in my character details so I’d be more confident about it.
