Complete revamp overhaul, paragon tree, skills, items, masterworks and temperings. Even that won’t be enough, a rework of enchantment system, I will take 2 extra weapons over it any day.
Just a buff won’t do.
I have watched plenty of barb and necro and even rogue gameplay footages to see it clearly.
Anyone who plays sorcerer now is clearly a masochist. Paragon tree is just weak, temperings are bad. Aspects and skills are crap.
Remove immortal flame shield, that’s one of the dumbest ways to play the game, that sorcs have no defences to be forced into this kind gameplay is ugly.

Some ideas for bringing sorcerer to a remotely equivalent power level to barb / necro
-
make the Tal Rasha’s iridescent loop affix an inherent class attribute / , or I guess a notable passive
-
make burning DoT tick rate scale with attack speed (like in Diablo 3)

ditch inferno and the ice ult and make all three the same as unstable currents
-
third enchantment slot
-
give sorcerers the option of selecting one 2x and one 1x offensive affix from the codex of power, without having to apply them to weapons

I hate Tal’Rasha’s. It’s such a lazy fix to our damage problems. “Here have a 60% multiplier, now quit complaining”. That item shouldn’t even exist but it has to or we’d be completely screwed as a class.

I want a tal rasha’s equivalent for mono element sorc which you basically can’t play right now. I have no specific ideas but, in general, I see the following problems with the class
- The only options for multiplicitive damage scaling are limited and basically force us into doing CD spam and keep constant barrier uptime. I’m fine with these builds existing, I’m not fine with them being the only real option for damage scaling. It basically forces everyone into the same playstyle.
- Similarly, tal rasha’s basically forces everyone to do multi-element. Want to just be a lightning sorc? Too bad.
- For the love of god give me a ranged build that can at least do the pit to some decent degree (no, needing five 3GA uniques and ubers to clear pit 61 doesn’t count). Only thing pushing pits this season is firebolt, which needs like 5 uniques to work properly, and you have to literally stand point blank at enemies inside a firewall to blast them with what is supposed to be a ranged attack. I want a build that’s like bone spear used to be.
- This class has always had issue with this. Eg, see arc lash being amazing for so long. I’m fine with melee spellsword style gameplay being a good option but I want to be a ranged caster.
- Make DoT buids like firewall viable late game. My bash barb attacks like 4 times a a second and does 10 million damage each hit to a group. Firewall does like 100k damage a second. Come on.

Yeah, there doesn’t seem to be any support for those wanting to roleplay a mono-element sorc, which I find staggering.
Even their fix for frozen orb sees you having to have lightning spears and hydras randomly spawning all over the place.
they further nerfed the ball lightning to nearing -90% attack speed and winterglass to -30% trigger effect, which i think even restored back to original power, sorcerer class is still way behind than other class.
( i am referring to the median sorc player base, and not taking those few world top leaderboard fella as reference to “proved” that sorc is not facing weakened issue )

I enjoy sorc but It definitely needs a lot love. Glass cannon need or damage taken reduced to 1% mana shield and damage reduction passives need buffs period. Flame shield I dispise but finally use cause I literally have to to stay alive. I refuse to use a staff but if I did I would probably be able to clear 85 90 but stuck at 80 because I choose not to. Blizzard LOOK at sorc and have whole patch dedicated to us and hopefully when you release it there will be less then 10 bugs.
Yeah. Even if we got to use staff in conjunction with 1h/oh (still a 2h aspect behind barb), we would still be lacking. Maybe that + a 3rd enchantment slot or that + a 3rd ring slot would work.
Got my Sorc to 100, fully geared bla bla. Decided to start my Rogue and it’s comical how easy the Rogue is to absolutely blast with by comparison. Started WT3 at lvl35…
If they could equip another WHOLE set of jewelry and gem them with int they MIGHT be a little better. I’m not joking, they still wouldn’t be as good.

2 more ring slots with more aspects sounds good tbh, won’t solve survive ability but at least a little buff to dmg
Yes my gems in jewelry are useless, I am capped both on armor and resistances.
They just need to buff the sorc single target damage. AOE is really fine.
Sorc have a lot of defenses and CC skills that makes easy to kill fast trash mobs.
We are weak killing bosses…
If you are going to push the pit at highest levels so we need buff to everything. Really weak past pit 80.

it’s clunky to keep up and constantly falls off between fights but its better than any legendary aspect for damage. 
Is it 60? Or 45? You only have 3 source of elemental dmg as a sorcerer, where would you get 4th?
That sorc build is using an exploit in multiplicative dmg numbers scaling out of whack with fireball enchantment and shatter and it ONLY works on the shaman boss, so it’s stil bad and doesnt do any real dmg besides under those exact conditions.
