Yeah it’s bad. Genuinely bad. The base mana regen rate needs to skyrocket, they need to re-implement the 3rd enchantment slot, and they need to slightly lower the base CD of Teleport. Nova would be nice, but the 2 Nova aspect does a decent job of alleviating that.
There’s a reason you see hardly anyone streaming higher level Sorc gameplay, and when you do, it’s almost EXCLUSIVELY group content.
Go play a moderately geared Barb or Rogue for 15 minutes and you’ll have your answer as to where this class currently lies.

Eh not really, Sorc is powerful. Most people are just playing rogue for the “assassin” fantasy and Barb for the “big buff” guy they can never be in real life. There is more exposure and thus more builds that people can copy. Sorc is extremely strong, just not enough guides out there to spoonfeed the masses on how to play them. Just lazy gamers.
I guess you don’t know about arc lash build, or ice bomb? Or ice/burn? The best past 50 is actually pure ice, but you need a few uniques.
I switched to a sorc after attempting to play a storm druid and having an awful time with it. Using a fire and ice build and wrecking everything.
Yeah it’s a bit weaker if your comparing for sure. We don’t hit near as hard. And it’s alll cool down focused endgame. You can try/prolly succeed with fire burn builds but the best is definitely ice shards. And it’s very weak compared to other classes.
This is talking about tier 4 30+ nightmare dungeons. Other than that you don’t notice your weakness.

Yeah, I have the gear. I’m in WT4. It’s servicable, but SIGNIFICANTLY slower and less effective than Barb, Rogue, or Druid.

Pretty much correct, although Nerco isn’t farm from us. Sorc’s main issue is it can’t survive anything for more than 1 hit. Meanwhile Rogues face tank pacs of 4 elites in Nightmare 50s at level 70.
I’m struggling with my Sorcerer also, currently at level 47, looking at forums to see what I can do to improve and it looks like I’m not alone.
In slam I played frost build with sorc and shot build with rogue. Both to level 20. The rogue needed less than half time to reach 20 and complete almost same quests (I don’t used Lilith additional skill point nor previous Gera since it was a comparison test).
Now I’m again on sorc, few level below 50, using a chain lightening build which is mention to be the fastest levelling. Level after level it become more difficult. Always no mana or cd. I choose skills for mana regen and prioritizing cd reduction and mana reduction on gear. Also used some codex for mana regen. I’m trying to make wise use of my resources during fights, but often I need to run in circle with no mana and all in cd.
For the moment, on wt2, still viable but slow. I doubt it can be viable in more difficult content.
I wondered if I was just imagining things when I remembered there being three enchantment slots, but then only saw two in the betas.
Also, those in this thread saying that they are “wrecking” need to actually get to at least T3 and start doing T10+ Nightmare dungeons first. Even at that point it becomes glaringly obvious there are issues, and it won’t get better as you go up in difficulty.
There fact that you watch streamers is proof enough you don’t know what you’re doing. Sorc is op if you’re not a dum dum. This is wt3 50+
Sorc literally can not push Nightmare 60 atm, without having 3 Uniques and 4 Glyphs at 21, meanwhile Rogues farm them at level 70 with garbage gear. You have no clue what you are talking about, 0 game knowledge in the endgame…

Look on the bright side, Necro is even worse so Sorc isn’t last place!
Sorc is great fun until you get to tier 4 and have to play ice. I’ve played arc lash all the way and just switched to ice for tier 4 and am miserable. I miss arc lash….
