He IS definitely overtuned health wise⌠even with good Gear and good damage IT Takes ages to down himâŚHe IS Not hard but Has way too much healthâŚNot Worth the effort in my book
Build and char? I assume this was on NMD100 too. he deletes minions faster then butcher, though im not ready for butcher yet as I cannot dash or reset my AotD quick enough.
My selfish side hopes this is a global issue not just a summoner one.
I havenât done NM100 yet - on 80 with my built (bone spear, vanilla built with 45.6% base DR/47.2% vs. close). I not have much of the problem neither with Butcher nor with son of Malphas. Son of Malphas apparently have insane number of HP OR ⌠his resistances are changes, I have notice that taking him down first 30% incredibly slow, second 30% somewhat similar to the Butcher last 30% he goes down fairly easy. I have no plausible explanation why is that
I main a necro but playing a sorc for s3. One tip I got was to use the Breaking support stone and I dont have problems with either SoM or Butcher. I died to them every encounter prior with my sorc.
Sorry for replying a month after. You know I am super Casual. I play super slow. Anyway, I am level 100 now and I farm NMD100.
I find Son of Malphas too long to kill unlike the Butcher, he dies so fast right now with my Mutilator Blood Lance Build. So whenever, son of Malphas appear, I just skip and bypass him instead of wasting my time on him. I could kill him in the long run but I wont waste a minute just for him. Itâs faster to skip him and I have done it many times now.
BTW, if Son of Malphas drop Uber Unique, I would kill him everytime. But he doesnt. So, he is a skip on me for now. Even on Multiplayer, I ask my teammate, to run out and skip him unless he pops out in the last room with us in there.
imho if you want to farm Malphas for the unique tuning stones I think he is worht killing. Yes he is slow, but he guarantees a single summoning mat.
My problem with him is, as im running through sometimes I donât notice him and walk into one or two of his elemental ranged attacks and can get killed. If I notice him I just take the 5min hit and kill him. What is very annoying is, having to resummon my army 8-10 times per kill lol.
Butcher I would skip if it took me as long as it did in season 2, as he offers nothing. But he goes down fairly quicikly for me now and poses no real threat to killing me.
Obviously all my kill times are significantly longer then a standard build, but thats ok for me.
I am sorry I was referring to Son of Malphas, the one who pops out from nowhere like the Butcher. He has to be skipped.
Echo of Malphas on the other hand who is the Final Boss of the Vault of Loom is different one. He has to die everytime becoz he could drop the Unique Governing or Tuning Stones.
im not saying literally farm him on his own⌠im saying if he spawns if it takes even 5mins to kill him its worth it.
as it would take you just as long to go farm up multiple sets of elemental oreâs to have a chance of dropping the same material.
obviously farming elemental ores and grouping up to at the ritual stones for loads of mats is the best way⌠and im not disputing that.
i met son of M only 5 times since the beginning of s3, even not enough to summon 1 echos. for sure i donât play very much, nevertheless heâs a rare mob, like the butcher.
I killed him without issue using my personal Blightjailer build. Basically, I use Blight, Corpse Explosion (that leaves shadow puddles), Decrepify, Corpse Tendrils, Blood Mist and most importantly, Bone Prison. Lots of DoT/Darkness/Shadow damage.
Malphas has a pretty easy to read the pattern and unlike the Butcher- he gets trapped in the Bone Prison. All he really does is jump, then run towards you to slam when he lands, and then swings out with some elemental balls. So heâd jump, Iâd cage him as soon as he comes down, drop Blight Puddles on him, Decrepify, and Corpse Explosion. He couldnât run to me to slam me. Blood Mist as needed to create some more corpses around him or avoid certain attacks.
The only issue with him is that he has WAY too many HP and it takes a good 2-4 minutes to kill him unless youâre playing one of the broken builds.
I ran into him in a 92 earlier today. Minions got killed often enough, but I had plenty of corpses to bring them back. The worst is his repeated cleaving, which gets around minion damage limits.
Sadly, it was a few minutes into the fight and I literally lost interest in the fight, so he killed me a few seconds later. He was around 25% hp left when this happened.
Easily could have finished him off if I didnât get bored and mentally check out.
Easily kill him with my top geared shadow Necromancer. It takes me for about a minute. The only problem is the amount of hp he has.
Check out this build on mabalytics â Top Shadow Necromancer Build for season 3â.
this is my experience, but due to my extreme stubbornness i kill him each time. Resummoning my army god knows how many times. I would say for me its a 5min fight in NMV100. Hoping this gets better after the mid season patch
