Sometimes upgrading items actually decrease their stats instead of increasing them

I’ve noticed on several pieces of gear that upgrading gear can actually downgrade some stats…sometimes multiple stats. Usually happens on the 3rd or 4th upgrade level.

I’ve noticed this as well. Not really a pattern to identify though.
