Something is seriously wrong with the network

Until recently every so often I’m having lots of disconnection/lag/network issues:

  1. Walk around town. Lag.
  2. Otw to Word Boss, Lag.
  3. Traveling around the world. Lag.
  4. In middle of NMD instance, trying to port back to town to sell stuff. DISCONNECT. NMD gone.
  5. FINISH NM instance, trying to port back to sell stuff. DISCONNECT. NMD gone.
  6. CREATE new NMD instance. Just hangs there. Lost sigil.

Before this I’ve had a total of 3 network disconnects. Now it’s every time I teleport back to town. This is making me lose NM dungeon progress/sigils/rewards. Might have been either yesterday’s hotfix or the one before that.

Anyone else having the same issues?

Not trying to be funny or rude, but are your drivers all up to date? Have you reset your modem/router/computer?

Drivers up to date. No changes in router/network settings on my side.

I just now finished a NMD and teleported back 3x with no issues. I did something different this time.

Some context: Last night I acquired the barber heart and put it in a ring. Been wearing it ever since.

However, these last 3 times during the NMD before I teleported back I UNEQUIPPED the ring.

No disconnects.

So perhaps a recent change with the barber heart is the culprit?

I’ll continue my testing…

I suppose you could be right. I still recommend restarting all of your equipment just in case.

Yeah I just got a disconnect again. Did Helltides. Opened up a mystery chest. Ported to town. Sold Stuff. Tried to port back then disconnected.

I’ll restart my equipment just in case. Thanks.

Edit: Did not wear the barber ring but someone else might have worn it.

I’ve noticed this as well. I chalked it up to an unnecessary burden on the servers…people constantly logging in and out for NM dungeon runs.

I am not wearing a barber but I’ve had horrible lag today. Mostly the game has been fine the last couple weeks but today I tried to do a few things on my lunch break and it was basically unplayable. I did the world boss and it comically went from attackable to dead during a lag spike. Tried to do some Whispers/Helltides after and the rubberbanding was bad enough that I gave up.

(and no, not having latency anywhere else, including in other Blizzard games)

Let me fix that:

Everything is seriously wrong with the game

Same here, network disconnect when teleporting. Horseback riding to prevent disconnecting, and this all after the first patch.

I have the same issue too. No problems with drivers, when first installed…

The most obvious lag is rubber banding, getting glued to items or corners in dungeon.

Right now, even as I’m writing this comment, I entered a dungeon and no loading screen now. Just black and hanged for the past 3 mins, usually it takes no more than 1 min to load.

Check your power management on your network card. I had the same issue after last windows update (coincidentally the same day as Blizz patch update) which changed this setting. Change it to Do not let Windows manage power to network card.

That is if your network seems fine otherwise. If that is not the issue then run a traceroute and open a support ticket.

They will blame it on an extra stash tab!

Reminds me of Skorn which caused rubber banding at D3 (MP Lvl Era). Could be the same with barber heart.

Its the new line of code they added in to prevent the trade/duplication exploit and the new stash tab is causing a lot of overhead in the API.

Something is up with Blizz side, I am running perfectly fine even when it comes to other games. I checked to see if I have packet loss on my lines, zero packet loss. My while play D4 latency is at 60 or 66. Graphics is running at 120 FPS. Every time I go into a NM dungeon, Helltide or just plain combat. I noticed while in combat the mobs HP doesn’t go down when attacking and then all of the sudden they die. Even when fighting dungeon bosses, I’ll hit them and hit them, and their HP doesn’t go down and then 2 seconds later their HP is half way or they just die.

I have not logged in the game in almost a week now. Because of the lag and rubber banding. And i know how to tweak my system to optimal performance. Even on D3 i can get small lag spikes but nothing like this.

Whoa! Didn’t even think of that. I’ll give it a try, thanks!

No, no issues on my end except for the first 5 seconds of the world boss fight. Big spike in latency on that one but no disconnects.

Yeah, was pretty bad on and off post patch.

Same issue here. After a patch I disconnect all the time.

Everything up to date.
