So with the patch notes up and people losing their minds I started thinking about what is a good drop rate? And a realistic expectation. Sure we’d all love to see 5% from every mob you kill everywhere but that’s never going to happen.
Let’s say during a typical dungeon run, nightmare or otherwise, you kill on average about 100 mobs if you killed every single thing in it. A 1% drop rate would pretty much get you one baring bad luck.
1 nmd seems a bit too generous for an Uber. 0.1% would be about 10 nmd which again seems a little too easy, as a barb I could probably knock that out in an hour and a half.
So what about 0.01% now that’s about 100 nmd or 10,000 kills. That’s starting to feel closer to a good number but it honestly still feels too easy. 10,000 racks up pretty quick in this game between doing dungeons and hell tides. The 6,666 cinders in the season journey went by pretty fast.
So maybe somewhere between 0.001 and 0.005 could be a sweet spot? Probably everyone would get at least one per season at that rate. I’m curious to hear some rational thoughts on this.
