Some Things Diablo: Immortal Did Better Than Diablo 4

  1. Grouping up with people.
  • DI has a well made party finder that makes it very easy to find and group up with players in-game.
  1. Clans.
  • DI clan feature isnt just a glorified chat, it actually has many important functions & activities and is a necessary part for full progression in the game
  1. Main town.
  • The capital city in DI is well designed, a large city that is a nice looking community hub and truly has the capital feeling. D4 main city is like a big mud village.
  1. Endgame progression.
  • In D4 you run into a wall and thats it, no more xp, no more difficulty levels to increase, no more better loot than you were able to get when you first started WT4.
In DI you can keep on progressing your level and your loots level will keep improving to higher levels in a real grindy Diablo game fashion.
  1. Longevity of game.
  • Outside of seasons it looks like D4 is a 2-4 week game while D2/D3/DI will continue to give players at least some reasons to grind for years to come.
  1. Battlegrounds.
  • Immortal had super fun battlegrounds, team vs team action, only problem it had was pay to win players dominating. Here on D4 we could have even better BG experience but for some reason its not included. Blizzard why not make use of what you learned from immortal?

I was expecting D4 developers to take some lessons from the things Diablo Immortal did right as outside of its monetization aspect its not a bad Diablo game but as we can see that is not the case here. Many players are already done with D4 while the earlier releases of Diablo keep on giving. I guess at this price point we can only hope the developers have a serious lineup of content phases dropping in to D4 but that could be a reality which only happens via expansions with another hefty price tag.
