So I’ve been paying close attention to my wolf companions lately to see if I can surmise any specific things that may be bugging them.
Let’s start with some good news
- It appears the many of the storm/nature/lightning synergies are now applying to both the active and passive portions of both skills. Including the Overload Spirit boon (Which was a surprise for me since it’s lucky hit and the passive portion of companion skills have never activated lucky hit procs), and the fulminate glyph, and “storm damage”.
- Not lightning companion related, but, P.S.A. - spirit wolves from the rune make enemies Vuln!! (I didn’t know this) So nice to have.
On with the show …
- It seems to me that the biggest Active interaction bug has to do with wolves getting “stuck” on their current target. It’s not obvious what causes this. But the bug becomes apparent in the Horde Boss fight (and even more apparent if you go smack on multiple training dummies). If a couple are fighting one of the bosses and I use the active, the ones attacking my target will activate. But the ones attacking a different target will stay on their target and not use the active attack (they just get the unstoppable icon and continue to melee their current target). Inversely, in NMD or out in the world, If I’m one shotting everything constantly I hardly ever have them not activate. I assume this is because they can’t be stuck attacking a dead target
.
Further evidence - In NMD or out in the world, I will often run ahead and leave a mob or two behind and when I use my next active the wolves left behind wont activate. If I run back I find them still attacking the mob(s) I left. If I kill those mobs the wolves will work fine on the next active.
Even further evidence - The absolute worst offender of the active bug comes in Horde waves. When there are a crap ton of mobs for the wolves to get ‘stuck’ on. I start the wave and it works consistently as long as I can group them up and keep the mob count low. In this scenario I have no problems with the active not … activating. But as soon as I need to run off towards an event and stop focusing on killing mobs … the bug begins. And often I wont get a single active to go off until the very end of the wave when the mob count dwindles again. - I find that I don’t have wolves get stuck in the ground since I stopped using moonrage. My guess is that the bug has to do with the wolves summoning mechanic during combat. And, since my core wolves can’t die I don’t have to summon them and there’s no interaction to bug.
- It is not apparent if some of the elemental synergies are working or not. A lot of things that seem like they should work, intuitively, still don’t increase tooltip damage - Humanity and Resonance for starters.
- Some elemental synergies are still obviously broken. Including the Mighty Storm’s aspect used with the Earthen Might Key passive. Would love to see this work. Spent a good 5 mins pounding on a dummy with actives trying to get it to proc with no success.
- Runeworker’s conduit Aspect is a bust. Neither the active nor passive effect of the Wolves companion skill will proc the lightning bolts.
- Constricting Tendrils does not work with wolves/ravens at all. Neither active nor passive will proc the root/poison.
- The Electric Shock and Bad Omen passives do not benefit from wolf lightning damage, neither passive nor active. Which is strange since the Overload Spirit Boon does. However, lightning raven active does proc the immobilize/lightning bolt (but not the passive portion of ravens).
- “Lightning Damage” stats, such as the Fulminate glyph, apply to wolves but not ravens (according to tooltip dmg). Which, again is funny since ravens will proc Overload (boon)
- While the Werewolf damage para-nodes increase tooltip damage, The Lust for Carnage legendary Node does not seem to function with werewolf companions. Spent quite a while letting the wolfs beat on the dummy with and without it selected. I saw no average damage difference. And it definitely does not grant the spirit on crit.
- Stormshifter’s aspect does not increase wolves companion skill level while using alpha.
I assume all the inconsistencies in what does or does not proc passives are bugs. I have a hard time believing they just pick and choose what works or doesn’t with zero info relayed to the user.
Other Druid Bugs I’ve experienced but haven’t seen reported.

Runeword Bug FeoQue: Become Injured/CC-Cast Bulwark
With Unstoppable upgrade in skill tree. The shield procs correctly on crowd control and I even get the unstoppable icon over my head. But I still remain CC’d. In all other instances Que works correctly with unstoppable. -
The passive creepers that rummage around aren’t being shown anymore. They are still jumping out of the ground and applying their passive poison effect. And the active still seems to work correctly. But their “idle” animation is just gone.

The CirZec runeword does not charge when used with Claw and Greatstaff. I’m assuming because it’s reading the Stormstrike as well as the claw and therefore not counting the next claw as consecutive.
Will update this as I find more things.
Hope that this may be helpful to the dev team!
