Some feedback I wrote down while playing Diablo 4

Loot filter:
The game desperately needs it.
Sorting through items is a slog and I constantly find myself postponing going through item stats and gearing because of how unfun the whole process is.

Also, seeing the stats of an item while it is still on the ground by hovering over the item would be great. Just like Grim Dawn did it.
It would eliminate the process of: picking up the item > opening inventory > seeing its stats > throwing it back on the ground > rinse and repeat.

Proper item crafting:
Something akin to the crafting seen in Last Epoch would be more interesting than the current system we have at the moment.

More stash space:
This one is self-explanatory, five stash spaces ain’t gonna cut it in a loot-based ARPG game. How anyone at Blizz thought only a meager five stash spaces were enough is beyond me.

Specialized stash tabs:
Give us specialized stash tabs to store sigils, elixirs, boss components, and, for sick bastards like myself, a stash/closet to store our severed ear collection like that corrupt Zakarum priest we can see in the Rogue trailer.

And no, I DON’T mean SELL them in the cash shop, I mean give us the option to buy them for gold or red dust or obols or whatever.

NM sigils drop variety:
The game has over 150 dungeons yet I get only a couple of the same sigils over and over.
Even if I salvage them and craft them again I still get the same exact dungeons.
In my case, it’s always “Inferno”, “Ghoa Ruins”, “Light’s Watch”, and “Belfry Zakara”.

Sigil crafting and affixes:
Give us proper sigil crafting! We want to be able to craft a specific NM dungeon instead of clicking buttons and getting random results.
Let us run dungeons we find fun do run for heaven’s sake.

Sigil Affixes:
Speaking of sigils some of the affixes are horrible. I don’t want to hide behind a shield bubble every minute or so to avoid damage.
I don’t want to constantly run away from the annoying purple silence orb.
Some of these awful mechanics need to go, or at least be integrated into some boss mechanics.

Also, let us randomize sigil affixes with gold.
Something like PoE where you use currency items to try to get the affix combination you are comfortable running.
Give the players the tools to tailor the content the way they want the content to be.

Dungeon Objectives:
Being forced to kill the last remaining skeleton boi hiding behind some door across the map is not fun.
Carrying boxes and backtracking across the map TWICE simply to progress through a dungeon is also not fun.

Stop telling us how to have fun.
If I want to blast through the dungeon as efficiently as possible I should be able to.
At least make the objectives optional and make them a one-time objective where you work towards some kind of endgame progression.

In PoE, you have map objectives that give you some bonuses towards endgame Atlas progression when you complete them.

Dungeon Boss Variety:
Every other boss fight is " The Blood Bishop" with the same exact mechanics in 15 different maps. If it is not “The Blood Bishop” then it is “The Water Hag” or “Khazra Abomination” that I fought in six dungeons before that.

I am not expecting a completely unique boss encounter with unique mechanics for 150+ dungeons that are currently in the game but some variety is needed.

At least you can reskin existing bosses so that the “Blood Bishop” is now a “Plague Bishop” that deals poison damage.
You can give him poison attack patterns that Khazra Abomination uses, and have him summon poison-based mobs.
Or “Deamon Hag” instead of “Water Hag” which summons Cultists or Fallen Shamans that resurrect other mobs that try to swarm players that deal fire damage.

Again, most PoE map bosses are reskinned bosses from the campaign but due to them being cleaverly repurposed, they are now almost unrecognizable.

Dungeon Variety:
Sacred and Ancestral Nightmare dungeons could also have different environments. Instead of having the vampiric-based cathedral dungeon, you can have an infested plague-ridden cathedral dungeon with the appropriate mobs.

Some Redditors have even suggested giving them a makeover if they are in the same area as Helltides or Blood Harvests. Make them more demonic-looking with daemon mobs or overflowing with blood and Vampires.

Maybe affixes like demon-infested or corpse-infested can reskin them to give them some variation.

I’m gonna get so much criticism for mentioning PoE this often, buuuuuuut in PoE, you have Shaper, Elder, or Blight-influenced maps that change their look.

That is all for now, I might write down part 2 if I think of more ideas.

To end on a positive note, I like the game very much, I absolutely love the story, the lore, the atmosphere the fluid gameplay, and overall the feel of the game. Been looking for a new go-to ARPG to replace my PoE burnout and this game has the potential to become that with a few improvements.

Yes to everything. There is no arguing this with a logical sound mind.

Definitely some good ideas in here. You know all the stash stuff falls on deaf ears though. Can’t really make any changes there until they fix their base code.

You forgot the one major missing thing for D4… OVERLAY MAP!!!

I like these ideas but I think these two things would conflict with each other. If people could craft their sigil to a specific dungeon, they would quickly see which dungeons are favorites and which are not and then you would not need every dungeon to be nightmare capable.

That or people would just craft a sigil for the current whisper dungeon. While that might considered double dipping, I think it would be great!

the nmd’s are on a rotation. only 30 of the 150 dungeons are nmds at a time. sooo…thats why your seeing certain ones over and over?

In the works, we just don’t know when. My guess by the time the expansion hits if we’re lucky.

Sadly they haven’t mentioned this at all, not that I remember anyway. But yes this is another big one on the list people mention all the time.

So I can’t state this enough, and I’ve explained this more times then I can count, they have to recode stash tabs entirely before they can add new ones. If you want to know the reason why just do a quick Google search of Joseph P.’s tweet on stash tabs from June or July.

Again brings us back to the above issue as well. While this would be great, they got a lot of work to put in before it’s even possible.

Ctrl mentioned this, I will add though that they have mentioned talking about how they work and making possible changes. Doesn’t mean they will, just means they’re talking about it.

Also being worked on. They cleaned up a decent amount in S2 for the NM dungeons, not regular dungeons mind you. It’s a work in progress, no doubt we’ll see more dungeons change in S3.

Agreed.

Also agreed.

All of these points have been made before on these very forums, we’re just playing the waiting game now.

I mean if players wanna run their favourite dungeons ad nauseam let them. As long as they are having fun. Preferences vary, some players love dungeons that I hate, or vice versa.

Instead, we are kinda forced to run specific dungeons that we do not like and that is not fun for some players.

I feel like Blizzard is hellbent on telling us how to have fun instead of letting us do it ourselves.
