Some enemies should be able to one shot you, and dying should be punished

There is no sense of playing this game, you just mindlesly walk and use ur abilities, it requires 0 dodging, 0 kiting, basically you arent actually playing the game. No flow state, just boredoom.
There should be some elite enemies that can one shot you if you dont pay attention to how you play. Because there is no sense of danger in this game.
On top of that make it so that dying removes all your exp to the last paragon checkpoint

Maybe not one-shot but at least be capable of damaging you to death unless you think about the engagement

This would make sense if there were dodges in the game. And then it would be fair to demand that those opponents could also be killed with one blow.
Besides, what kind of punishment are you talking about? Cut a finger for the death of a character?

I believe you’ve just described Hardcore.

Play that game if you think normal mode is boring and ‘lacks action’. Hardcore will guarantee to keep you on your toes because death is permanent.

You can always nerf yourself…

Don’t upgrade Paragon Glyphs
Blue items only
Use only items that drop from spiders
Use only items found in chests in dungeons

plus any other way you can think of.

Use your imagination and claim that bragging right!

What builds do you play? Some enemies in NM100 can one shot you.

If you have your resists cap and your armor is 85% red, you should not be one-shotted, if you failed on that then I’m impressed.

Why? If it’s too easy…it makes sense to make things more challenging the easiest way possible.

You just lack the imagination. Lets see what you can do!

Uh, have you tried playing NMD higher than 60s? Dying is punished and you can absolutely die very easily if you don’t pay attention.

I like the idea of loosing xp like in d2, or drop your loot and loose some gold.

its the main reason i wont play any other seasons the game is not bad but it can be amazing and it would still suck since no consequences for dying and no difficulty, its like any other game u play on story mode

I disagree with your statement @OP, death should be a series of unwanted attacks, perhaps not CC lock but certainly not a one-shot stuff

The problem for the millionth time in this game is - when you make an easy game where everyone is “guaranteed” to get to 100 give or take, the mathematically innevitable outcome of deaths becomes one-shot or one-volley-shot, it gets reduced to a “fast trigger shootout”

Should the devs (and sadly players) have been wise around this they’d have not asked for power increase and for cough density increase cough for the sake of it (both), but they DID and we are where we are

To answer your question though - yes, you WILL get one-shot, if you push NMDs to high double digit numbers. The damage per hit from mobs from NMD 50-60-onward scales really fast

And since the game is designed around “accepting the innevitable” (path of least resistance in other words) - exponential DPS growth works in a way that when you finally meet it - you’ll get one-shot :smiley:

Then go play HC. Don’t play SC then cry because the game is too easy. Be a man. I think it’s hilarious. These people crying about the game being too easy are the same people who are gonna be crying because Abattoir is too hard.

Only very telegraphed attacks, with enough time to react, should 1 shot you, and i would keep those to bosses

No off screen proyectile should one shot you

Losing exp on death is one of the worst mechanics ever invented. It makes no sense and just artificially extends leveling for no reason
