For those that know, could you please help with these questions:
- What does the unique affect shadow damage look like visually? I have a rogue with a GA Fist of Fate on Lucky hit triple masterwork. On a basic skill with 90% skill LHC, I would assume this affect should be triggered on every cast or at least every other cast. I don’t see anything visually. Am I just missing the visual cue?
- The tooltip says damage to surrounding enemies, but does the affect also damage the original target as well?
- For the DR, does it apply to both the original target and surrounding enemies or only surrounding enemies?
- What is the range of ‘surrounding’?
Sadly I do not know these answers, but now I’m also curious, so bumping your thread.
The reduce damage is a debuff on the monster. The shadow nova has to hit the monster in order for the debuff to apply. It’s been awhile since I last used it but I remember the shadow nova is center on the player not the target. Lucky Hit works differently than you stated. The skill has a percent chance to apply Lucky Hit. Once that condition is met, THEN it rolls again for the affect. It has to roll twice just to proc Lucky Hit affects.

For starters your Doombringer total lhc proc is likely sub 45% and nowhere near 90%. Its an effect around you and will reduce the damage of the enemies you hit.
On the LHC, sorry I was using too many short hands. I was testing with puncture which has 94% for the skill, I have about 200% lucky hit chance on the tool tip bar with the Fist of Fate and rings. I think there is something bugged about the puncture cast due to the split chance even when all three hits land on the target. I can observe this by also switching to another basic skill which doesn’t split the attack.
Anyways, I maxed the graphics settings to finally be able to see the effect. It looks like a little ‘poof’ in the same direction as the blood – rather than a full circle nova. Kind of like a parfume or atomizer spray versus a full nova of Andarial’s helm. If it goes off at same time as Andarial it would be covered by the Andarial nova.
Boltbane, thank you for the clarification that it is on the target.
That means Puncture has a 23.5% chance to cast the Doombringer effect when ignoring double casts.
