Solo self found solves almost every issue d4 is facing

just put a paragon and pit ladder in the game… maybe a check list of all the uber bosses… and boom you got yourself a fun game you can replay…

biggest issues: economy
gold
duped items
getting carried
getting power leveled

all solved by a simple solo self found mode (which d3 has)

What prevents you from playing SSF now ? Except from the open world where you see others I mean.

If they ever added SSF it would just be preventing people to trade like they have it in WoW. It probably wouldn’t be what people want, but they wouldn’t create separate servers for SSF people.

Now they could prevent you from grouping too, but since the Dark Citadel was introduced this expansion, I doubt they would even do that for a SSF mode.

As you said there’s nothing stopping people from doing SSF mode now by themselves, they just don’t have to trade. Which isn’t very hard to do.

if they do SSF… it should be just like D2 did it… OPEN character mode…

so we can play the game OFFLINE…

and then we could use MODs again to character edit and mess around with… one of the biggest reasons D2 had extended life of popularity

You and I both know that’ll never happen. I admire your hope though.

I don’t understand why people are so worried about what other people are doing in this game. It’s a constant trope on this forum and it is absolutely bewildering.

WHY DO YOU CARE?

Why do you care if other people have perfect BIS items, duped or not? How is that impacting your ability to enjoy the game?

Why do you care if people are trading?

Why do you care if people are getting carried or power leveled?

If not for all the whining online, I would have absolutely no idea that any of this was happening. This basically is a solo self-found game. The only time I ever group with other people is to do boss rotations. That’s it.

And even if I did group with other people to do Dark Citadel, Pit runs or whatever, wouldn’t it be good if they were insanely strong? I don’t want weak partners. I want them to blow stuff up like I do.

I just don’t understand why people are worried about keeping up with the Joneses in this game. By design, it is basically a solo player game as is. If I’m stuck at Pit 120 and some other guy is doing Pit 130, WHO CARES??

Majority who play the game have no idea what’s going on with the game. They don’t visit the forums, they don’t look to social media for updates, guarantee most don’t read the patch notes either. We are a small minority that represents ourselves, not the majority that’s for sure.

Also I agree with the rest of your post.

I agree with what you say, however in the open world they absolutely do impact my ability to have fun in the world events. This could be solved by simply allowing us to choose open world or private game.

The rest of it, I fully agree…

I guess this is how google searches like help i accidentally bought a train born. Every time our guy wants to play ssf he just trades accidentally like whops I bought a 4 ga weapon blizz stop me

I mean some guy just randomly asked me to trade, I have to hit accept right? Would be rude not to. Oh what’s this a 3 GA item with all the stats I ever wanted? Surely this can’t be shady, well I guess SSF is over for me, damn you blizzard!

100% guarantee that’ll never happen. Not worth the investment.

I only care about them adding SSF if it comes with adjusted drop rates. This is because they adjusted drop rates with trading (and duping) in the game. With a second mode they could adjust rates accordingly.

The refusal to implement doesn’t change the solution… I agree with you on 100% that is not going to happen…

Very much this…

I’d be totally indifferent of class balance, duplicated items, trading or “economy”, rankings and similar stuff, if I could just play completely on my own, as long as I choose to do so. That’s why I often times stay away from certain shared world events
Just as an example: Playing on Torment 1, waiting for a Legion event to start, just to see a level 60/200 Spiritborn character coming around instantly spoils all the fun, as I know I’ll either just be trailing behind or need to do something else instead

As the shared world was marketed as one of the main features after all, a real “solo mode” quite probably won’t ever exist though
On the other hand, switching from softcore to hardcore recently brought back some of that desired “loneliness”, since encountering other players really seems to be a rarity then and even if you encounter other players, they’re quite regularly the same players over and over

How does solo self found fix a memory leak?

I am running almost SSF (almost because there is no pure SSF yet) and I don’t find these to be problematic.

What I find problematic is I wanna see more events and things to do other than leveling.

I am at Para 290 and slowed down due to work and also got sick in between.

Why? Because Blizzard balances the drop levels and if too many people have BIS gear than the drops are decreased. There is much talk on this forum about the quality of the drops and that is directly related to the negative consequences of open trading. IT DOES EFFECT EVERYONE.

A Self Found mode is a bandaid tbh.
Fix the underlying issues that an SSF mode was supposed to hide.

There should however be Solo Toggle, where you get the overworld for yourself. Not a mode, just something you could turn on/off at login.
