Solo Self Found Mode

I would advocate for SSF it it meant the standard mode had no trade restrictions. Last Epoch seems to be leading in this department from what I can tell.

Given the pace of change in Diablo 4 - this might be on the cards for Season 25?

Yeah the best way to go forward is to have a full open trade standard mode, and a self found mode. Doesn’t even have to be solo.

Skill and effort are not required to complete any activity in D4. SSF won’t change that.

that may be so, but my point still stands. the difference remains.

if we have a hc mode
there is no reason on earth to not have a ssf mode

What if I told you… you can play the game solo right now, and you never have to group or rely on anyone else? :joy:

How hard is it to get that competitive play is important for some of us? SSF mode is important for people who don’t want to compete with RMT champions and boosters on the ladders.

I will confess I don’t really understand it because I’m not a competitive player, and it’s a lot easier to just ignore what everyone else is doing than to get all up in arms about it…

But hey, if it’s something that makes you happy, by all means campaign for it, if enough people want it (and they can justify the dev time) then there is no reason you shouldn’t have it.

It certainly makes sense in a world with leaderboards, if people care about such things, a separate leaderboard for that would be nice for those players that care.

I don’t care much about SSF too but I would like the player system from D2R. I like playing solo so if I can scale the game as if there are 4 people in my party and get the drop quantity of 4 players while having more difficulty in the game that is an absolute win for me.

You can almost do SSF on consoles. I play on Xbox, and I do not have any form of Xbox Live - not even the base “you can play with other people online”. I play D4 fine, as it is connected to the servers - and I see other players (in town or like World Boss or Legion) but I cannot interact with them other than with Emotes. Can’t view, can’t trade, can’t join parties or clans. Given that is the way I like to play the game, I’m happy with it.

Yes, you can do a lot by yourself, but not all things. You cant ignore other players in helltides, which you must do, or events like Legion or the lesser ones.

Exactly. This becomes even more important when you add leaderboards and are now competing with people who can group. I don’t care about leaderboards and I play the game solo except when the game forces me to group. But I would love the SSF option. Hopefully it doesnt take until the next game is made like it did with D3.

If you really want to avoid other players, I can confirm that this solution works almost perfectly!

  • Play Hardcore
  • Disable Cross-Network Play
  • Never see another player again :joy:
