So, you hit 100

So you hit 100! Good job. All those nightmare dungeons done with. What a grind! Now, you can get to the real meat of the game! But wait, what’s next you ask? Uber Lillith of course. You know, that cheap fight with numerous one shots that’s only beaten by those that leveled meta. But you didn’t level meta? Or you didn’t spec your class with that one specific build that has a chance to take her? Well, Blizzard has just the thing, that’s right, more nightmare dungeons, so you can level the rest of your runes, and hope for that ultra rare Unique you need to finish your build! Welcome to D4 “Endgame”

Someone is mad they can’t beat Uber Lilith.

They actually do have a valid point though. We all know this “Endgame” is lackluster. I dont think I’m even going to be able to beat this deedadee, because one shot mechanics are cheap.

And as soon as I hit 100 in prolly 14-15 days (basically a level a day) Imma try to finish off the destroyer challenge section and just fully vanish from the game myself until next season. (if they have vastly improved the game that is And well if not. alot more time for Spider-man 2)

How about just unique? Found my last pair of Penitent Greaves at level 44-ish. That’s it. Hit 100 last night and still running Sacred pair. How about Temerity with anything above 48%? Nope. Impossible.

I did get a lot of Razorplates… Yeah, I’m taking a break from the game.

You realize that there has to be an endpoint right? At some point, whatever the endgame is, it will be achieved. You cannot have an endless game.

Either make a new toon or go play something else and come back when there is new content.

The current endpoint is just getting to level 100… these devs seriously looked at their predecessors work and said “Nope we aint having that” There is TONS of things they could of used. but it’s a little bit like they took the worst parts of the franchise for end game, and threw them all in a bundle and said “Here you go. suffer”

They seemed to want you to focus solely on 2 real aspects of their game and only those two. nightmare dungeons, and helltide. Thats it, thats supposed to be the fun. They even stated at the beginning, they didnt want us changing builds, and would rather we remade the character. How the bloody hell is that supposed to be fun? Relevel a char, because a build wasnt able to compete,

I’ve played diablo since d1, even had the elusive and rare diablo 1 playstation disc.
I’ve played diablo 2 for many years after it came out, and was playing it as recently as last year. played d3 for 21 seasons (rl… happened which caused me to quit gaming almost fully) I even played through the extremely horrible launch of d3 (day 1 had collectors) And this is by far worse than that. Even with the “Hey lets roll random stats, oh your character is a demon hunter? who uses dex? here have a crossbow with strength on it!”

But in the end, it was still fun. d4 has been alot less than that. I dont even see most of the point of going to level 100 at the present moment. I’m 86, still using a level 60 unique for a weapon. have gotten higher level ones that pales in comparison. They did that whole system wrong.

Endgame should not be leveling constantly. there is no carrot at the end of the stick. Just more suffering. (imma still finish season one way or another, maybe not lilith, because must be meta to beat apparently)

And we all want the game to be better.

I think what you meant to say is, “Congratulations on hitting 100! Now you get to uninstall the game until the next season.”

Just to nitpick, could/would/should HAVE, or ___'ve. You literally can not “of” something unless it’s taking a piece of cake .

Now see here, it’s valid in the wild and wonderful West Virginia. Just like Yontoo.

Nope, it is 100% wrong.
Just like the guy saying his wife “deleted a legendary on accident”.

You’re going to make me go full West Virginian on ya, aintcha?

It which reality does speaking the truth = being mad? If you have something valid to add, please do so, because your comment is lacking. I assume you have beaten her? I would then summise that, you think everyone should have? I don’t follow streamers, i don’t copy paste builds. And, i shouldn’t have to. And that doesn’t take away from the fact the game is seriously lacking any content post 100.

I gotta agree with you on this point, you’ve basically hit the “endgame” at level 60. Level 61-100 is just min/max stats with a TON of crappy RNG items in between just to beat a boss that you already beat at level 40…the biggest thing thats lacking is variety, same mobs, layouts, mechanics, but with a different colour and lvl #.

100 with a Black River I got at 70 [two since dropped but with WORSE stats - all ancestral]. Same for the Greaves of the Empty Tomb Boots and the Howl from Below gloves] - All attained between 64 and 75. Very tiny upgrades since. It really feels like the last 25 of the game are just after thought.

I haven’t even gotten a character to 100 yet. Mostly out of boredom with playing one class for 36372829 days. And while I agree with you 100% on everything you’ve said? There is a lot more wrong with this game than just that. There is zero balance in anything on any class in this game. And I know that because I play them all. And when people find or figure out something that works half decent. Guess what happens the following week? It gets nerfed.

What it comes down to is we paid 70-100 dollars. For a game that’s still not out of Beta. And their priorities are backwards in dealing with that. They need to get all balancing issues straight. And numerous bugs affecting playability. Instead worrying about making characters weaker and having to still play in a broke game that they have little or zero concern of fixing.

At this point I could care a less about ANY new content until most of the current issues are addressed.

Gotta give’m credit though tbh. They got paid a crap ton of money to have their game beta tested. And still are. Daily.

I used a level 100 character as a gateway to enjoy making other builds on other classes in the game. Because of the way gear drops and that you are pretty much fully kitted out by level 80 that means a lot of things to sell and salvage on the way to 100.

Fun is still possible if you mix things up a bit, but for it to be fun you have to already enjoy these types of grinds. I had a build that was very satisfying to grind with which also made it fun. Being able to blow up entire elite mobs in seconds made it fun, sometimes there was a mild challenge depending on which NM affixes I took or which dungeons I ran but it only got stale if I played for more than say 2-3 hours at a a time.

The key to this grind was pacing myself. I got up and did things several times per day during those hours spent. And while the gameplay loop is repetitive, breaking up that repetition with real life is a must. Don’t try to be like these streamers getting paid to create content. Live your life, not theirs and the grind will feel a bit less daunting.

That said the grind to 100 still feels a bit long but that’s because the scaling starts to go in the other direction trivializing all but a few activities which are repetitive by nature. Those activities are being improved to shorten the grind, but normal activities need to be more rewarding to give an alternative to get there. Sometimes people just want to wander and do stuff and get rewarded and. It be funnelled into an activity.

That’s where the game misses the mark. To give us all this choice and then funnel us into such a narrow set of options to achieve a goal in a reasonable amount of time is what is holding the game back. Replayability is the key to longevity, but getting to the point of making each replay a more satisfying and enjoyable experiment is a grind that is too daunting for most.

Yeah, I just hit 73 the other day, but I started to feel like there wasn’t much to do around mid/late 60s.

Killing mobs during helltides is still fun when I’m not being cc locked but I’m really just farming for uniques and upping my paragon board.

It feels like the season should have more challenges or events.

I guess Mega Varshan is the midpoint between Turbo Elias and Uber Lillith, but the process feels pretty…empty? Lifeless? It doesn’t feel very fulfilling.

There is a serious lack of communication with current blizzard D4 team. They do the opposite of everything that makes this game more fun. They are bound to have the same fate as the original d3 team. They will all be fired and replaced with a team that will communicate more than a super scarce campfire vid. They will put in people that listen and don’t think the majority don’t know what they are talking about and only they do. I would have never bought this game had I known it was this way. I’m trying personally to be patient a bit longer. I’m at the point now, where I log in for a few minutes with my time off work, then just right back off. I’m probably moving on to other games that I can play in my spare time which is very small. The ones that can sit and play all day will dwindle and they will move on as well, leaving a dead empty game. Here’s to hoping the current team is replaced like d3 did.

97% of the player base cant beat lilith so what is your point? Shes gotta be toned down, fixed or something or else. Tier 5 is gonna be empty ghost town if they wont fix her.

In S1 there is absolutely no need to get to 100 to beat any endgame challenge. This is not an MMORPG where the endgame starts at level cap. If you beat Uber Lilith at level 100, you would also beat her with the same gear at level like 95. It works the same for T100.

You can see from D4 that PoE hasn’t really taken hold in the mainstream. In PoE it is also completely irrelevant and also completely normal not to reach level 100. Very few people do that per season. To be fair, it takes a lot of effort to reach level 100 in PoE. It’s 1 million times more effort than in D4.
