elites can still have the projectile bubble, but its heavily nerfed, as it stops for quite a bit when you apply any kind of CC to the elites.
back then you really had to fight them in close combat. now you can practically ignore them and wait for a CC to jump on them.

Right, but if they are playing Fireball Sorc I can imagine this is making things more difficult. Maybe they donât even have any CC?
Again, devil in the detailsâŚ

true, as i said i got no clue about the FB sorcs. do they play with inferno? thatd apply a CC that should deactivate the projectile bubble.
that being said, im pretty certain its something extremely basic that hes missing there, that makes his life harder than it needs to be lol.
IDK what the âmetaâ for FB Sorc is, but even if I did we donât know they are following that as they donât use guides.
If they arenât able to follow a guide and arenât intimately familiar with all of D4âs damage and elite mechanics, I think they have done damn well even accessing T4.

Yes, the answer is yesâŚIâll go ahead and take the heat for being honest with you on this one.
Apologies if this was answered:
Do your witchcraft powers look like this:

i believe the maxroll i looked at for fb uses inferno

Iâm comparing like with like when I do the comparison, I know there are shields, damage reductions, healing dudes etc.
However - when I can sit there on a T4 elite with no icons under its name, no blue glow on the health bar etc etc - and spam Fireball at it and watch as its health bar doesnât budge at all - I ask myself - what is stopping me doing any significant damage. When I sit there at the same elite in T3 and obliterate the dude within seconds - that question is reenforced. Then I come up against something with a shield and watch as that shield doesnât budge either in T4, but vanishes in seconds in T3.
As I keep saying - Iâm fully aware that T4 bosses will be tougher, but the effect Iâm seeing makes no sense unless there is a âto hitâ mechanic at play - most of my fireball attacks are âmissingâ the target in T4.
The other guy who is playing with me sees it as well and is equally confused - his character has no such issues - T4 is just a bit harder than T3 for him, but he still does damage.
So the way Iâm clearing these mobs at all is using effects that cause normal mobs to die and their explosions hit the elites.
Again, to be more specific we would need more information like the full build and ideally video of the scenario you describe.
Without those we can only give general advice, which you arenât finding helpful.

I see you guys are still trying to avoid the question I asked and provide answers to a question unasked.
Hint - I finished the season, so Iâll see what build the RNG gods make me play next season
- no need to waste your efforts on me now.
And thatâs what you get for trying to be helpful to this troll. He even has a medical excuse ready to be rude to other people. Handy.

I appluad some of you for your patience, I had to dig this up again, because instead of continuing in this hopeless discussion I made a Fireball Sorc myself. (One could argue it is more meteor but both are key and needed, this is my own build, I donât look at guides)
Sure I probably have more paragon points started with 234 (after I hit 60) I think.
But really just wanted to see if there was something wrong with the class.
And I followed my own advice and made sure my gear was MW to about 10/12 and my glyphs were at 46 at least before attempting the T4 pit. (Above I believe I said make sure your glyphs are within 10 to make the transition smooth, but in all honesty I got tired of running pits.)
So yes T3 things died easily at this point, and in T4 they take slightly longer, so elites took longer, but still very killable, I probably need to move a bit more. And this will correct itself as my Glyphs get closer to 55 and higher it will get easier.
I have no runes. And I do have Witch orbs two tier3 and one tier 2.
Does that mean this class can push 150? No, scaling can drop off at any point. But transitioning to T4 is not as impossible as he is making it out to be, as long as you level your glyphs and there is nothing wrong inherently with your build.
Of course I recorded it.
The reason I keep showing the 2 amulets is ideally I want one with the INT, and the CDR, the third stat can be either the life or crit chance. The Amulet I am using has an older temper for meteor size which I no longer need there, but it was already reset once.
As for double/triple critting things on MWing I did not bother I just pumped them up, I only reset when it hit resistance or something totally useless/redundant.
I forgot to show my enchantments but they are Frost bolt and Frost Nova. This might be confusing but I use Icefall.

Why on earth would I try to avoid the question?
I am usually pretty good at explaining things (I do it for a living) and have never had someone continue to accuse me of âtrying to avoid the questionâ before.
I have a lot more patience than most people - itâs probably the most important skill to have if you want to help people who are genuinely finding something very difficult. Which is what I get paid to do and what I enjoy doing. Hence why I spent so much time trying to help you.
But, given this response and accusation, Iâm done. I have an ocean of patience for those who want to learn something, no matter how difficult they find it. Not so much for people who accuse me of not trying, especially going against pages of evidence to the contrary.

Hear what youâre saying, I was about to ask what you mean by meta build in the context of your post, then I read the last partâŚ
I havenât tried any of the published sorc builds in s7, but at least the ones on the tier lists are t4 doable in at least one of the streamers opinion. (Just varying degrees of ease)
Is that whatâs in dispute here?
Forgive me if this has been discussed already⌠whatâs the difficulty in t4 caused by⌠dps or defences?
Yup, killed my interest in the game. Want to cater to the tryhards, well the tryhards can buy the season passes.
Agree with youâŚnotice how a big defense mob pops up to make nonsensical arguments against youâŚis this the developers trying to defend themselves or what?? None of their replies address the issue which is a serious problem.
Most are telling me to make a completely new build just in order to have a slight chance of beating Torment 4.
The big mob either denies the problem exists or says it is our fault.

I have playing Diablo games for a long time but never bother to learn how builds work are what the synergies between skills and gear. My first D4 build was crap. I still had fun playing but couldnât push far in NMDs (they were the endgames in early seasons). Then I started following build guides and got a lot better. I still follow guides but I have now a better understanding of what is important for a build to work and can start doing my personal adjustments based on the gear I managed to find.
Anyone can have fun playing the game without the need of any guide but if you want to push to higher difficulty you need them unless you are ready to study the Paragon boards and do damage calculations.
If you follow a build guide, you will be able to play in Torment 4 and finish the season journey with most of the builds. It is faster (sometimes a lot) with some builds but there is no reason you canât do it with the ones you like. You just need time. If you canât afford to play regularly during the 3 months season, sure, it might be better to choose the meta builds of the season.

Donât feed the forum alt char either.
If there is something inherently wrong with your build you will need to adjust it. This goes for any build , generally meta builds have already been adjusted for best value before being published. T4 is harder than T3 because the monsters have barriers and more health. Not sure how to make that any clearer, you need to do more damage, especially if fights take too long.
If you look at my post, either one of the first two, or the one with the video, you will see all you need to do is make sure your gear MWing and glyphs are where they need to be. This can be confusing to some, because no one really tells you directly what these numbers areâŚbut I did tell you, in order for the transition to feel smooth or manageable.
I also had to adjust my build, to get more life out of it, because while not often, there were times where I was randomly being oneshot for no reason.
