So why can't they fix the Disconnecting?

First off before the trolls start my computer is fine, Mb is gigabyte x570, Ryzen 9 5900x, 32 gigs of ram, Rtx 3070 ti, so why the often random dc’s? I have to restart computer after this event and then get a little breather room before the next dc.

The specs on your computer don’t really matter when it comes to disconnecting. It’s potentially your router or ISP at fault. I’m assuming you’re on a wifi connection sometimes it can help to make sure there’s nothing blocking it or the antenna on your computer. Switching the channel can help too.

There was a thread a while back with some bnet settings that also helped people perhaps searching for that can help you.

Out there somewhere is a blizzard middle manager turning in a report. The report is a summary of the increase in player log in count due to recent updates. The updates were great and players are now logging in 2-3 times more often per day. The manager gets a raise.

-a short story, ‘blizz math’

or alternative reason:
Blizzard exec is turning in a report of excessive logins. Report shows unoptimized data across the network since the expansion is causing more disconnections than usual. Numerous excess logins hamper the network and cause other disconnections.

As pmulgrew said it has more to do with your connection than the specs of your computer. 9 out of 10 times it’s usually the route your computer takes to connect to the server that causes an issue rather then the server itself.

Meaning you could be running into a bad node along the way to the server which acts up. The only way to be sure would be to run a trace route from your computer to the server you are connecting to. You’d have to run it for a while to make sure where the drop off is though.

Now it could also be on the server side, but typically when this is a problem there’s a lot more people posting about it on the forums, rather then just the occasional person that says they’re having disconnection issue. Don’t get me wrong it very well could be the server you’re connecting to, but Blizzard would definitely need more information on your part before they could even address the issue.

This.

Also look up how to run a traceroute. You could have an otherwise good connection but are getting packet loss due to a bad junction between you and the servers.

Not everyone is a troll - the majority of internet issues are the result of the user’s computer, ISP, or route from the servers being too long or having issues. You have to check these off before you can reasonably assume it is server-side. If it was server-side, basically everyone from your region would be reporting it, so you can check sites like down detector as well. Not that anyone using that site is necessarily going to check their settings first either; but it can give you a good idea if there is a server issue, based on report volume.

If you have to restart it’s definitely something in your computer. Otherwise, as others have said, A lot of things can cause disconnects outside of Blizzard. I’ve only had like two disconnects in the last week or two. So I don’t think it’s the server.

Maybe the exec turning in his report is what forces the disconnects HMMMM
