Really, it is just a sophomoric reference to Revelations. It serves no purpose since it does not really function as described. It SHOULD give you immunity to poison. That would make it actually a cool feature. But instead it is just a number that has no real bearing in the game.
The point is that D4 devs dont know anything about arpgs so they put that number there cuz they think it Is “cool” for Diablo game, instead of making it good and fun.
They literally could make the PROC scale with uncapped Poison resist therefore it would actually make sense to have that number there and bring in new builds focused on stacking Poison resist, open Andariels to all classes cuz now its mythic item thats pretty much exlusive to Rogues.
But we wont get that cuz like I said D4 devs dont rly know anything about arpgs.

Funsies though it would be hilarious if they gave a class or unique/mythic the ability to turn over cap poison resist into multiplicatve poison damage.
Fun fact: the oldest known manuscript (scrap) with that passage, found in a garbage heap in Egypt, has the number as “616”. So… you know… blunder on top of blunder, I guess.

Because blizzard puts in minimal effort and gets max gains from the people who eat up everything blizzard puts out with the diablo name. So why not add a random stat that means nothing to a piece of gear. It doesnt matter.
not everything needs to have an important purpose. Sometimes stuff can just be fun.
Its not like it takes anything important away from the item, as its just an equipment affix, which you dont see on other Helmets.

+max poison resistance
beside the inherited 666% poison resistance one.
So… really no reason to complain at all. Its just a fun little detail.
There is this thing called RPG (role playing game) which is also present in ARPG games (such as D4). It’s there for some role playing fun and as a user of that item I think it’s great and it made me smile
Another mythic is coming out that add +1 to all passives as its inherent which makes this item look silly with its inherent.

It was 90% poison resist before. Blizzard just made a random number. it just so happen to be triple 6.
