It’s okay, you are not blizzards target audience. They fully intend on selling mtx to the demographic 10-12 club. They keep the crafting for the bot/gold sell club. They purposefully make trading hard as hell for the pay to win club. If you are not in those groups, move on.
Yeah i will also not buy it. 40$ for an expansion is to much in the first place.
And if you look in the future we will get expansions every year for 40$?
That means we spend around what infinit money at least 200$ on a game that just is not delivering.
I could count so many things that actually hardcore bother and to be honest should be in the realase of an 2023 game of a trippe A company. I will not compliment there work by buying the expansion when they just do trash in every patch or season.
For me an expansion 1 year after a game release is an obvious money grab and community milk because if you look at what they delivered from release and slowly added all of the things like more stash and what not should be there from release.
So the fact that they adding these things season by season shows me that they do it on purpose to bring expansions for content they already should have done and probably already have done but not releasing.
You can excuse everything and find arguments for everything, most of them are just “D4 looks soooo good” but if a tripple A company bought by microsoft cant deliver simple things in a released game that are NORMAL for little game studios, than you should critical ask yourself WHY? And if you go back in the past of blizzard money grabbing behavior, you will find the only reason why they deliver so badly and so obviously disrespect of the community. You will find only one answer that makes sense.
I haven’t and am legitimately on the fence on not buying the expansion. I recently quit this season due to the temper bricking system, the fact that I nearly maxed my necro, and that I fell in love with Octopath Traveler 2 on Xbox game pass.
I almost guarantee I’ll be back for S5. And I guarantee I’ll be awaiting news on the raid system and other things I’m on the fence about.
One thing that made me quit WoW Classic, besides the fact that BC came out and negated my full T3 mage and alts, was the endless must group/raid weekly design. I dedicated a year and half of Covid to the game and then promised I wouldn’t return to that kind of game. If D4 introduces a near mandatory raid system that requires discord to chat/non soloable, I will just taper off. And I don’t want to waste $40-$90 on a chance that I’ll quit.
D2R is something I go back to every now and then because it’s the best design of a solo player game that lets you interact in multiplayer only when it benefits you.
I’m still feeling the sting from all of last year.
Season 4 is better, but the fundamental game problems like class skill design, limitation on weapon choice, being limited to build-of-the-season, and game balance overall (either some build one-shotting boss, or some boss one-shotting players) remains in poor state.
I think I might take the time to look at other games after Season 5, and wait for a heavy discount on this expansion pack.
D2 and D3 still have more features, even after the expansion for D4. There is still no innovation in D4 to even justify it being made. It is like d2 or d3 lite with microtransactions. That is the only addition.
Until this season I had walked from D4. It’s better now but has a very long way to go and the expansion does not seem to address anything I think needs work. The new class looks unappealing to me (not my personal style). The new zone will be fine but I’m not excited for it. The new campaign/story will probably be decent and Blizz still knows how to make some good cinematics but those will be a YouTube click away days to weeks after release. The mercenary concept may be fun but not enough information as yet. 7+ Years of WoW completely burnt me out on mandatory group content.
I think had Blizzard brought back the Crusader (my favorite) and Witch Doctor (someone else’s favorite I’m sure) from D3 or some close equivalent along with the new class I might have been more interested. Not going to say never to this one but I’m not presently inclined.
