So... Two barbarians and a sorcerer went to farm Andariel

Bored of not getting anything useful on my SB and decided to give barbarian a try. After reaching T3. I thought it was a good time to do some boss runs and joined some folks via party finder. To my surprise one of which was a barbarian and the other one was a sorcerer. I only checked barbarian who was completely in ancestral gear and had like 230 paragon points, playing a ww build.

Now story actually starts here. The fight was taking much longer than people are used to these days. Andy wasn’t going below %50 before other phases starts, those things under purple shields weren’t going down immediately. We have to actually deal with mechanics. However I can say that it was a much nicer experience. On the other hand it wasn’t very effective.

I have 2 outcomes from this.

A barbarian with full ancestral gear wasn’t able blow up a T3 boss or some adds that it summons. Barbarians have only one strong build right now which requires 4 mythics… Strong builds of some classes have too strict itemization requirements. Which you can’t just settle with what you got.

Game is actually more fun when you have mechanics to deal with. Maybe the game should focus on quality over quantity when it comes to end game content. Right now if you don’t finish a pit/dungeon whatever under 2 mins you’re in efficient. It’s all about item found per hour etc. What if engagements were more meaningful but drop rates were better?

That’s how the game is supposed to be but Blizzard missed the toilet. Dropped the log right next to it.

I agree that boss fights could be far more interactive with nuanced dodge and telegraphing. However i don’t know if they currently have the team to pull this off.

Their current design language for this sort of thing this seems to be “spam as many spinny things and orbs and lazers that can one shot the player as possible and also make the sure they can hit the player from way outside of their visible hitbox so that it looks like the player died to nothing”

Andariels bossfight is a mess. Just random mechanics all over the place that don’t feel cohesive at all.

I can delete her pretty quickly on T4 but yea the build I came up with requires 3 mythics and 4 uniques and I’m stuck at pit 81 for now
