So took several months off

I took several months off from D4 just to see if they fixed things… and nope

They gave us 3 more bank tabs YAY … but still itemization = full bank with just a couple toons

No Gem bag well of course they couldnt add that instead its some garbage shards that you craft gems from… hell i was 72 before i figured out how this new gem craptastic thing works.

Loot still sucks… they only added more affixes to loot so now instead of 4 of possible 16 its more like 4 of possible 27 per peice… and your wanting 4 - 7 affixes of that 27… come on bliz every class has 1 stat all gear for that class should not have peices drop with not just 1 but 2 wrong stats. +27 str, +24 agil{or dex cant remember what bliz uses) for an int class if i wanted to add str thats what gems are for, hell even d3 got that right. Nothing like filling a bag getting back to town and salvaging it all not a single peice worth keeping. That would be fine if i were min maxing … but we are talking new toons just getting to a new World Teir and most the loot is garbage… trying to gear a toon is seriously worse a grind than leveling. Lets not even get into the “tiers” of uniques… you have world uniques that drop quite frequently then you have less fequent (almost never) drop from world but farmable from “uber” bosses, then of course is the never drop “uber uniques”.

Season adds 5 more dungeon crawls, i thought when i did them as part of the questline they were pretty short, but no cant have short dungeons we are going to add an entire entrance dungon to each of them when you start farming them. All of them are the go retrieve a door key and bring it too the door. It gets old quick. No clue how this statue buff thing works… get to the final room with 2 or 3 gone … in 8-10 minutes in the dungeon… then 7-8 gone in the simple 1 min final room slug fest. walk to chests and can only open the main one maybe the extra with 1 needed… seriously this is a horrible mechanic. Now 2 bs slow you down bosses, butcher and son of mal… worse when you get both on one dungeon… there goes all your statue buffs killing those two and those twos loots are not boosted by the season pass.

Did they fix resistances? because it sure feels like armor is still 100% better than any resistances.

The only plus side is its no longer hundreds of hours to 100… they scaled back the xp quite a bit. finally.

So my final take… still so much wrong going to take years to make D4 a decent game, i dont know if the player base will stick it out long enough to see that happen. Still feels like devs who dont play the game are programming this… after the failed launch they should have had all the devs play the game for 4 weeks… no hacks nothing just 160 hours in game (well less than that because of all the crashes) let them experience what they made and play alongside customers… feel the grind, the exaperations, the horrible loot, the meta build (vs the play your way it was touted). If the devs just stopped an played this game for 30 days it wouldnt take but 2 months and this game would be fixed.

You still need them for doing higher end content. Armor only protects you from physical damage attacks.

Still?.. You never needed them before… Even the devs said that resistances were not implemented on launch. They promised them to be fixed in S2 but S2 patch notes did not say that they were fixed. You say you need resists to do high level (assume 80 + ) but there is no list of resists based on dungeon? Honestly i think its still based off armor.

Wudigo has several videos on resistances since the new changes which I want to say they fixed them or revamped the entire resistance system before going into S2.

Diablo 4 - How To Stack Your Resistances The Right Way (youtube.com)

easy enough to test. go do a NMD without resists and see if you survive. then do one with resists and see if it makes a difference.

Ubers fix many of these problems. No need for other helms once you have shako. Stash spaced saved.

No need to worry about bad affixes, b/c you will use the uber anyways.

Who needs resistances when you have +41% life doombringer plus 20% DR Shako.

Half joking, half serious. Now you end up with the problem of boring duriel grind loop.

And you would be wrong. Go face Varshan in WT4 without shadow resist and see how long you last. Or go to a NMD and face poison spiders without poison resist. As the other poster said, armor only protects you from physical damage. If you don’t have resists, you don’t get far in tier 4 content.

Yeah i found it…

70% cap Wt4 is -50% so you have to stack 51% resists to get out of the hole… and how does resists transfer to minions? do they only get 30% of yours? Dont know but it feels like this was just a bandaid on a problem not a fix.

lol i thought was a troll post. not even knowing that resistances were fixed months ago. its like you watched a youtube video and decided you were going to come to the forums to make a post about what the video said and have no knowledge for yourself.

Ya. I thought resists were fixed last season from s1 where armor just did everything.

I mean, it is super easy to get max resists in this game.

Not really sure what the OP is saying. My reaists are working just dandy.

ya i mean i wouldnt pretend to know everything about poe. i tried it, didnt like it and uninstalled. i dont periodically go to their forums to make posts complaining about the game. i moved on and play other games. its odd how some people stick around in the forums.

I tried it as well. Got to lvl10 and uninstalled it. It seemed clunky to me. And that first town layout was not great.

I don’t pretend to know everything about poe, but i did not like it either.

could have taken 3 years off, wont see much of a change.

TLDR: There are improvements. Some of the changes are good. Some are bad. Some are questionable.

At the end of the day, there’s not much difference. Oh there’s one. Things are much easier now compare to S0.

I think Uber Lilith is a good analogy of all the changes. Nothing has changed with her one shot mechanic. It’s still a bad design since S0 and still true in S3, but you can find ways to cope with it. But devs had made her easier. Her HP has been significantly nerfed, so that players can feel powerful. So broken builds can still wreck her quite easily but at least the subpar builds have a chance now. Before these changes, these subpar builds have zero chance at all. Instead of making players stronger or strive to be stronger, they nerfed the challenges.

Now replace Uber Lilith with feature X. You get the idea.

I find that, after almost a year since the public beta, it is strange that there is still no journal with the completed/missing side quests and dungeons.
A quest log may not be essential, but, being the first Diablo to offer so many of them, it would have been very useful to have one, even Diablo II, which had 6 quests per act, had a better log.
This also applies to the dungeons, since the icon of the reward to unlock disappears after the first time you complete them, keeping track of it with the other characters is a bit complicated. This information could very well also be indicated on the seals of the nightmare, a green visa somewhere or something similar would help to understand at a glance if the aspect of the dungeon has already been unlocked.
