No company i am aware of planned a multilauncher release in secret three month five release.
At this point i am not even sure if it’s actual malice or just disorganisation. Probably wanted to release before the Microsoft deal so everything got accelerated or left behind. The steam agreement wasn’t ready yet so it got backlogged.

why would people consider to buy it twice anyway? you can basically play the bnet version on a steam deck without disadvantages.

well, then i guess you should invest into a steam version of d4, considering how important it is to you.
Luckily we have the choice to not use the bnet launcher.
if they would have properly stated they plan to release it on steam than i never would have bought the bloatware version

you knew perfectly well that the battlenet version launches through the bnet launcher. as i said, you got exactly what you bought.
the product is the same, just the way of launching it differs.
Per definition bloatware is:
software whose usefulness is reduced because of the excessive disk space and memory it requires.
i cant see battlenet using up excessive disk space, or memory. Infact i think Steam uses up more disk space and memory.
But yea, as it is quite important to you, just buy the steam version and all your problems are solved. Lucky for you, the prices seem to be reduced regulary. Yey!

ya bnet uses like nothing as far as memory and disk space. dont get this comparison to bloatware. steam uses way more.

cant rly check the disk space since steam installs the game in the same folder as itself
battlenet is not needed for d4 to function therefor its useless for the product i bought which makes it bloatware

a Launcher is indeed needed to start diablo 4. You have the option between steam, or the battlenet launcher.
You cant open diablo without either of these options.

Since neither of the Launchers autostart for me, there are no unneccessary launchers running for me.
so if i open steam. it has like 7 things regarding steam running at the same time, not just 1. and that is even if you click on the x and send it to the tray completely. using well more than bnet if bnet is even left open. but once d4 launches you can completely close bnet and it takes 0 disk/ram…so the argument here?
