That was a lot of patch note fixes … and zero changes to actually gaining rewards for doing the seasonal content.
Great, Realmwalker moves slightly faster, so we can get to the useless portal of useless opals faster and as the saying goes, going nowhere fast.
Going to be stuck at Rank 8 or lower on all my characters for quite a while longer it seems.
there is nothing bugged about the rep gains. they are working as intended. also the drop rate of items/equipment from the opals is fine and they fixed the issue of you losing the opal buff should be good come Thursday
Oh … so getting 1 Zakarum rep every 20 seconds while following the Realmwalker, and 1 for every 1,000 enemies killed, is intended. Getting nothing to drop from the opals, is intended. Gotcha.
well your drastic over exaggeration isnt at all how it is working, so yes working as intended
Get to the realmwalker events early and farm around the green icon on the map so you can continue gaining the Zakarum reps. Even better if you find a mini world event (orange circle) in said area.
Well, yes, that’s just called math and observation.
Calling it a drastic over exaggeration is like going to the doctor with clear symptoms and just being brushed off as having female hysteria.
If it worked even remotely like it’s supposed to, I wouldn’t have been still not even rank 8 yet after a week of the season and Paragon 140. I’ve completed every other seasonal rep grind by level 80 with casual interaction with it. Not even being half way there as far as rep xp needed by that point is atrocious if it’s actually intended.
There’s a large difference between something being intended, but wrong / undesirable, a bug, and just poor code writing / design. You can say it’s not a bug, you can say it’s intended, but it doesn’t dismiss a call for it to be fixed or changed. It’s clearly not at the appropriate level of expectation or premise of previous seasons. It’s been talked about a bunch in the last week.
i have had my rep board completed for days. so yes i call it a drastic over exaggeration. also the drop rate on the opals is fine. what do expect every elite you kill to drop boss mats? lol
Yeah, and there’s already people Paragon 300, so clearly we all should be at 300 by now. /s That’s not a logical argument, you could have played 4x more than me and be done; that’s a given mathematical certainty.
And yeah, considering the absolute lack of drops for doing the realmwalker encounter, and the portal afterwards, and needing to then do the right kinds of content in a 30 minute window for drops to happen, boss mats should drop from every elite / super elite. It doesn’t have to be a stack of 5 that tends to happen infrequently … but having at least 1 drop should be a close baseline.
yeah apparently doing the math on your end, and comparing it what the game said you did, and realizing these two numbers don’t match at all, is “working as intended”
my point is its been 1 week of a 12 week season. it is perfectly ok you havent finished the board yet
I wish everyone was having your personal experience with this seasonal reputation system. But many of us aren’t. We’ll activate an opal, go kill hundreds of monsters, and get zero advancement. And other times it will work just fine.
Just because someone else is having a different experience doesn’t mean they are incorrect or massively exaggerating an issue. I don’t experience game crashes. Does that mean I should dismiss the concerns of someone who is having crashes or say they are massively exaggerating?
It’s great that you’re having a good experience with the opal system. I wish more of us could. A modicum of sympathy would much appreciated.
The interesting part here is that you think the two numbers are different, like someone is actually having a hysterical delusional moment for a week straight. And to your point, if they don’t match up, then things aren’t working as intended.
it’s pretty easy to check the math when the reward says you need one more rep, you get the in game pop-up saying you got that rep, only for the reward to still be locked. which has happened to me.
That wasn’t your point, that’s an entirely different one.
And one of my points was that I would be done already given the same gameplay of every other season before this one. One does not need to spend 12 weeks to complete it, nor should that be an okay outcome if it does.

Okay, I wasn’t understanding what you were getting at with your previous statement; that one sounds like a very different issue than one I’m experiencing. I thought you were parroting what LavaWisp was doing and making a snarky dismissive joke.
The Zakarum rep and this seasons mechanic is pure garbage. I feel bad for anyone unfortunate enough to jump into the season without the expansion to keep them busy because it sucks. It doesn’t work. I’m not even at rep 8 with them at 200 paragon and my season journey is done with T4 on farm.
There was a dev post on twitter that it is working as intended and the only thing bugged about it was the buff occasionally falling off when breaking objects which is being fixed in the patch.
They did not like people doing 10 characters in a season and getting 10 sparks like last season. so alas , you have a seasonal grind that cannot be completed like that and no spark. come on guys , get a clue
Do the opals even do anything? I dont seem to notice much. Not a great season thing for me. I want to see something really affecting my gameplay in a positive way and snoring over this boss while getting a handful of potions that run out quick and if you log out or crash while not even knowing if they work is not fun.
No, they do nothing except look cool in your inventory.
Same goes for the runes , they actually do nothing also.
They don’t seem to do much, but I’ve noticed a few small instances of them working. If you take the equipment opal before bossing a legendary might drop every now and then. The summoning mat opal seems to proc once or twice in 30 minutes. If you’re lucky, but maybe that’s just a normal elite drop and has nothing to do with the opals.
