So no AFKing in a dungeon now?

“no I don’t want to solve my problem with in game solutions because of the minor inconvenience of loading screens”

Pointless complaint thread.

I don’t think this will be an issue. It will only happen when there aren’t many left and you can see a count of how many are remaining for the objective. You’ll know if you need to TP or can just afk in the dungeon based on that.

Also, there are red dots on the map from pretty far away for that objective, so you will probably even see them moving towards you on the map at that point.

edit: oh, and in nightmare dungeons there are certain affixes that are constantly happening around you that would make it impossible to AFK in the dungeon without TPing anyway if you’re doing that level of dungeon. IE: portals spawning or other things spawning around you.

Those are FULL MMOs. This isnt. Its a small event driven layers of up to 12 people in areas. When your solo in a dungeon, the game treats it the same as its predecessor where you had a pause. I know this might be shocking for some of you, but when a new game in a franchise comes out, its suppose to be an “upgrade”. Which in many ways it is, several like no pause is a downgrade.

Die, b/c death in the open world has little meaning. Rumor or a interview stated the hardest dungeons might be timed and/or have limited lives. So in dungeons it might actually matter.

They can. Several MMOs do already to stop this, mostly PvP games though. Will see if they end up doing that.

Well if you had the background yourself you’d understand memory leaks, multiplayer layer lag, etc, can be reduced by cutting down the un-necessary loading/reloading assets, boundary/instance transfers etc as when millions are playing a service. Confining them to play in spread out areas as long as possible without transferring to new zones(esp one that is non-seamless, so its loading/unloading assets) is better for the service overall.

There was alot of multiplayer lag already in town/event areas. Every little thing helps with this many players. Im I nit-picking? Sure I am, cause I want as lag free game as possible.

Sounds like he might deliberately try to hunt us down!

So the cat can jump up on that too!

I’ve said my peace. If you see value in a pause function great, if not I truly believe your the ones complaining to complain b/c who doesn’t like pause?

Time to exit stage left and clean all the tomatoes off my shirt.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

body seems unclear is it a complete sentence?

Entirely fair feedback, but an inevitable result of the move towards an MMO style ‘shared world’ game.

TP is, whether you like it or not, your answer.

That being said, its really only one loading screen, because you can go afk once the first loading screen starts.

Only way a pause feature happens is if we also get the single player mode people are asking for, in which case pause may work in single player mode only. shrugs

My guess is only for the monsters that catch our target, no? Then we kill the monsters that are following us and the area is safe? Have to see when it’s released…

It’s only during kill all monster killing quests anyway.

Pretty sure if you have a 2 second afk, a straggling mob isn’t going to teleport and insta kill you dude. If you need to poop, go get food, take a phone call or whatever and AFK for 5-15 minutes, just TP. The Loading Screen is not long at all.

IMO if your toon is so weak that it can’t survive several seconds of AFK then you deserve your toon to die as punishment for leaving it somewhere unsafe.

You can’t pause a multiplayer match of Starcraft, Battlefield, COD, or similar, either.

What matters is “online multiplayer”, massive or not, RPG or not.

Unless the servers are overloaded and you enter a world devoid of monsters. Then you got jothing to worry about. But also nothing to kill :disappointed_relieved:

But I’m sure Blizz will have all thoae server issues figured out for launch.

What? Those vegetables they just beamed aboard look fine. :slightly_smiling_face:

2s? Then it’s a non-issue anyway. Stop finding stuff to complain about ffs.

If 2 loading screens is an issue, might I suggest upgrading your system?

No Pause button. This isnt a single player game. AFK in Town.

Also why they need to put in a single/solo version of the game
Going afk if your in a team will not be an issue but they seam not to care about the solo players which is such a shame

Funny you say that. Except the media, the community, pretty much everyone is calling it an MMO.

If it looks like a duck, it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then it must be a __________.

Diablo 4 is not technically considered an MMO. But the game is delving deeper into the genre than ever before with its shared open world, world events you can take on with other players, and co-op and PvP systems that blend seamlessly into the world.

I didn’t expect Diablo 4 to be my next MMO

Blizzard is still calling Diablo 4 an action-RPG but there’s no denying its very shared world.
