How the hell are people paying 1+ billion gold for items? 90% of the gold exchanged during these trades must be duplicated/bought with real cash, right?

I gotta admit i find the pricing too high also, i imagine the gold economy is still a problem.
Since the bots are still farming pvp areas, leads me to believe dupe is not fixed.

Whispers give you what 3 to 5 m gold a piece. You can easily do 10-20 of these a day. Then you just start selling everything you earn with 925 power and when somebody makes offer you look up item and price it. The ppl using diablo trade to sell are the ones using it to buy as well. You can find deals now if you search right. I got to 7b pretty fast just selling amulets rolled with obals and found items (mostly always more amulets / gloves / focus / dmg resist pants or chest / 3 resist boot). Always roll amulets with obals guys. I sold one for 1B and 1.3B.
What doesnt sell? Never sold a wand yet. Never sold helm. Only sold 2 rings.

I would think that it’s bloated by the rmt sites selling gear and there being a dollar price point on gold which then reflects value - and infects le brains - of simple traders.
Early on day 4 of this season I found a 2h sword with my main, a Sorc - incredibly good rolls and all exactly what a Hota Barb would want. 95% perfect.
The guys I was playing with immediately went to one of “Those” websites and told me an approximate dollar value of MANY similar items being listed.
Like - immediately. People apparently use them for ‘price points & valuation’. And they use them to buy stuff too. 
So yea this sword that’s on my level 2 barb was worth roughly 125-175$ on day 4.
Needless to say they also encouraged me to sell it or trade for Duriel materials. They’re not on friends list anymore so whatever.
That’s likely why the trade site is so bloated pricewise.
Exactly like D2 back in the day - RMT sites set the values.
example - Day 1-3 Jah/Ber are 99+$. Week 2 they’re 12$. Week 4 it’s 1.50$ etc
If you guys think diablo trade is bloated check out some of the sites that will be coming up for last epoch on the merchants guild lol

Cottage industries have popped up in all of blizzards games there’s no big conspiracy.
Unfortunately for blizzard it’s a game of wack a mole get rid of one then another will pop up to take its place

The funniest part of everything in this thread is how much people hated the RMA. Could’ve had protection and control of the market through 1st party services but now you get your ID stolen from randos.
I use it to buy and sell stuff cause it’s more convenient than the fb groups that want to charge rlm for things

Almost everyone in there will tell you to throw 5$ to the koreans on G2G or some other site for boss mats or otherwise.

They should remove gold exchange and remove mats. It is a cancer to the game and an opened breach for cheaters and RMT site to dig in. Trading add nothing to multiplayer. You want multiplayer add 4 men dungeon and a matchmaking system. But get rid of this parody of an economic system.

Not really the more the you pay for the game, the more you lose.
Never used Diablo.trade in any case.
I farm my self, it can take what. 10 NMD to find good item.
I farm mats my self with my clan, some of them buy mats, okay it’s not a problem.
But i mean if you want to be n°1 on a leaderboard dominated by cheater, exploiter, snapshoter who play the game 16h by day. Consider yourself you need to be like them and don’t hesitate to buy anything, reach the top include paying something, money… or time.
“Supply and demand” is a phrase that immoral people like to use to justify taking advantage of their fellow man. I have almost 3 billion gold this season because I’ve stopped wasting it at the enchanter but I’d rather metaphorically burn it than give any of it to those jackals on diablo trade.

make leggos/uniques tradeable between b-net friends for 2h (friends for more than 24h)

lower amount of gold / sold item (so you can salvage instead of selling
reduce reroll cost by 90%
account bound ALL materials…
you can still benefit from playing in groups, community and with friends
but the p2w will not be as insane as it is now…
