Yep, agree. D2 still is my fave. I enjoy jumping in to D3 seasons for a few weeks. Both do what they do well. A more methodical playstyle like D2, with constant character progression like D3, would have been great for me.
EDIT: LOL at the end. I’m also prone to impromptu essays.
Many people are easily upset these days and the internet gives them a platform to act like children.
I also don’t take too much note of Metacritic as it’s become an activist platform for people to review bomb. People that enjoy something don’t usually flock to review sites to tell the world either. Believe what you want but it’s become a very imbalanced source of the truth IMO.
As for Diablo 4 I agree it’s in need of more end game content, balance and some UI upgrades quickly. Lots of things were rushed and that sucks but then I also don’t believe it’s even close to a 2/10 game either.
Pretty sure the point they were making was that games are “half” released if you want to call it that with DLC, battle passes, etc, planned out versus releasing a full product.
Like going into a store to buy a pie but they can only give you half of it for now and in X time you need to come back for the rest (likely paying for it).
But yes, it’s 100% certain companies.
This is why I still respect Nintendo, not to say that they don’t do it, but games like Fire Emblem I never feel cheated when DLC comes out.
So the druid gets to use a couple uniques and a small handful of other builds are better with penitent greaves because of the damage increase, lol. So what? Unique items are horrible, overall, in D4. You named 2 exceptions, but that leaves 95% of the unique item pool.
You’re mindlessly defending the game in spite of facts. Even the devs think the game sucks.
Absolutely incorrect. I can farm for 2 weeks on D2 and have 40 hr’s easily, ssf.
You’re also dead wrong about unique items and set items. Tal’s is one of the most valuable items in the game. IK is great early on for barbs. And every single optimal build uses a mixture of rw’s and uniques.
If you didn’t play the game, don’t act like you did. You’re doing the dummie fanboy thing where you actually lie to try and prop up a point.
If you have to support your point with lies, the point is invalid.
Lol!!! Force booting the game on steam??? You seriously have no clue what you’re talking about.
You know, you’re right about us not knowing the number, though. There’s no way it’s as high as 150k. There’ basically no one playing. Out of the 86 on my friends list, no one plays D4 regularly, when all of them played at release, and 5 played day one of season one.
D4 is dead.
Hilariously, it’s so bad, you’re here instead of playing.
It is admirable of you to admit that you “changed sides” on this topic. I flip-flopped a couple times. When I tried the beta back in March, I made a forum post about how the game is boring and I couldn’t get past level 8 because it sucks. I was flagged into oblivion with that post.
Months later at release, I decided based on the feedback I saw at the time (people saying the end-game is great, etc… ALL LIES to rationalize their waste of money paying for early-access to this mess) to purchase the game. I begrudgingly forced myself through the campaign thinking “the end game will be fun…”.
I spent a couple days telling people while I played the campaign that the game is aight. Then, once I saw “it”, the light-switch flipped again. This game is an absolute pile of .
I’m not sure what Kool-Aid these people are drinking to convince themselves they are “having fun”. Some people just enjoy watching paint dry, I guess. I have more fun on the forum than I do playing the game, lol.
They have gutted the Blizzard that we knew growing up. They are milking the name and legacy of these franchises. In turn, they are doing severe long term damage to the brand.
This product (I have a hard time calling it a game, games are fun) is such a blatant mess; incomplete in every respect.
I’m not even talking about “tweaking balance” or “adding sets”. This project is a poorly done spaghetti code. They can’t handle even doing basic things like: chat, group finders, match making, adding stash tabs, recognizing key presses, closing memory allocations (IE: memory leaks), leaderboards, zoom, non-buggy horse, etc…
In Diablo 2 most of the “400” unique and set items are trash. Naming a couple of sets that aren’t doesn’t disprove that point. Diablo 2 is a mess of scammers and hackers trading hacked items, duplicate runewords and botting. The game is beyond broken; no reason to even bring it up. Nothing I said was made up, you’re just intentionally missing the point.
And yea, those counts you’re quoting came from a site that uses steam to compile player numbers in games. The 150K number you’re throwing around you apparently have no idea where it came from.
D4 isn’t dead, that’s just wishful thinking from a desperate hater.
Weird that the Devs are scrambling to fix a game that has no issues. Maybe you should tell them that what info they have been gathering is wrong and the few WhiteKnights will keep the game going.
So do the white knights posting here. They don’t actually enjoy the game, they just want to defend it because they’re that type of person who always accepts whatever is shoved down their throat and is thankful. For them, the cool art and ambiance is enough. The fact that we get two amazing cinematics? Well that’s icing on the cake and makes the game a perfect 10!!!
They’ll out right lie and openly deny reality to try and substantiate nonexistent points.
Honestly, the first 25 levels had me thinking the entire game would be similar, and what I witnessed in the first 25 levels was deep itemization in the form of rares and legendary aspects. Of course, as I played through, I realized, it isn’t deep at all. You see every legendary aspect in the game before you’re even out of tier 2, lol. They built just enough, to sell the beta, and that was it.
I also thought it’d be like D2 where we had a cinematic for each act, and I really expected great storytelling. I mean, the idea of Lilith and Inarius is honestly amazing, and I love the two cinematics we got, but those are the two best things about the game.
This is absolute proof the game was rushed far beyond its own health.
The whole situation with the game forcing the stashes of every player into the load for everyone around… my god, any junior level software engineer would know better. I guarantee this team knew better, but they weren’t given time to fix it.
-blizzard noticing a huge drop of players having an emergency campfire chat, admitting their own game is boring and not fun to try and prevent whoever is left from uninstalling with replies that only dance around the questions instead of straight answering them.
You’re really reaching hard, lol. So the devs paid some lip service to your whining and tried to reassure you. That doesn’t mean the game’s dying, that just means Blizzard isn’t straight up ignoring you.
Wrong, they’re just usable at different stages of the game. Finding an early game unique at level 10 made you insanely op until level 20-30. I know this is strange to someone that has never played an ARPG, but with effective itemization, you have different items for different stages.
Entirely incorrect. Simply repeating the same lie doesn’t make it true.
But talking trash on D2 doesn’t make D4 better, lol. No one likes D4. The devs don’t like it, the players don’t like it, you don’t even like it, which is why you’re here.
Oh I know where it came from. In fact, I’m pretty sure the guy that made the thread you wept over, got the stat from me.
The funny thing is that he could have picked those numbers from any other number of websites, many estimating much lower. I had picked that specific site because it had the highest estimate and I didn’t want noobs like you to have any counter.
But the funny thing is that I guarantee there aren’t 150k people playing right now. Almost no one is playing, which is why the devs held an emergency campfire to address how bad the game sucks and how they also thought it sucked.
I guarantee there are less than 100k people on right now, worldwide.
You’re telling me, this game is so mindlessly and dull, you’re posting on the forums while playing the game??? Lol!!!
Literally everyone in the world knows this game sucks, including you.
