The average player doesn’t know. They don’t spend their time on forums, or reading kind of news about video games. They only pay attention to what’s newly released or coming out.
2 months in and they’ve changed almost everything about the game. That is not something happens in a game that is doing well.
odd i am fighting a stronghold lvl 36 -45 plus, almost got one shot by a large goatman axe pound.
Becasue i am tired and just stood infront. which was good.
I can kite them and hurt them , feels good. for when i want challenge,
36- 38 SH feels more or less too easy, white is just easy as cake,
This is a scale gap i feel needs to adjust, to make t2 more fun.

Yea but that should be a relatively easy fix.
The classes abilities feel good, its just the overwhelming majority of them kind of suck. That and the skill cool down is way to long, evident by how popular CDR was.
What blizz needs to do is hire another studio to balance the classes, as blizz has always been extremely bad at balancing their games. Probably one of the worst in balancing in the industry.
I guess you missed the part where they said they were already working on S1 and S2 before release. IF they had this planned all along, it seems they could have just done all that before release and avoided all of this negative reaction.

Diablo 2 is all bots. D4 doesn’t even have bots that can functionally do most of the content; just look it up.

Based on what metrics we do have the game is doing fine population wise. Fastest selling PC ARPG in history; long queues at the start of S1. Servers are actually struggling with all the people playing.
But still, the only correct answer to Diablo 4’s population is that none of us actually knows. Only Blizzard does.

I am certain this project wasn’t even a thought until they failed at blizzcon trying to launch Diablo Immortal.
There was no D4. There was Diablo Immortal.
They thought they could pivot Diablo to mobile and just rake in the cash for the future of the franchise.
Then, when they saw the looks on everyone’s faces and realized how stupid they were. They knew they had to save face, quickly and that time was of the essence. Guaranteed, someone was on the phone getting money reallocated for a D4 project that was thrown together at the last minute.
They worked on two Diablo games at the same time. They didn’t have enough creativity in the pot left over for D4 and it clearly shows in the current state of the game.
