What you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
its with all seasons now, heck the wind blows above 3 miles an hour they start shutting schools down here in ohio, a snowflake falls and you would think the world was ending to see them feed off the media and run out and buy stuff the will never use lol…its hilarious. its weird that people dont even know history, this is nothing new for the planet, there have been five major mass extinctions.
End of the Ordovician Period. Around 440 million years ago. ...
End of the Devonian Period. Around 370 million years ago. ...
End of the Permian Period. Around 252 million years ago. ...
End of the Triassic Period. Around 201 million years ago. ...
End of the Cretaceous Period.
Global warming is not linked to a rhythm; it always had/has a trigger. That aside, all the mentioned warming periods spanned over thousands of years. Our current situation is at least 10 times faster, so it isnt bluntly explainable with history like you suggest. Furthermore, it is also suspicious that this “new period” falls together nicely with the industrial revolution.
In all seriousness, there is pretty much unanimous scientific consensus on the topic of climate change, so the room for interpretation is slim.
But when so many different platforms, seemingly unrelated to the fossil fuels industry, keep pushing the “this is nothing new” narrative, then it is worth asking who benefits from it, before assimilating potential misinformation.
Because it is well documented that fossil fuel companies share their wealth with friendly enablers, who spread beneficial ‘facts’ or half-truths in return. Your example of extinction periods stems from the latter and should not be repeated.
its sad gaming fell to the red pill. thank you for this post. its also extra sad that if you post something about climate change or the other end of the political spectrum its gonna get flagged. everyone knows the betas are on the game forums in mass.
didnt mean to hurt your fragile feelings, you should also learn how to read, oil companies werent around millions of years ago, but keep trying, we now know you take the blue pill, and not cialis
Didn’t new York times release a study showing that in the last how many years this is one of the coolest eras in earths history? Literally shows we are currently cooler
I dont think your reading comprehension is better. No one said oil companies existed millions of years ago.
Funny how the “blue pill” is supposed to represent comfortable illusion. Yet some folks think denying human-driven climate change is the more rational stance. If anything, refusing to see where this planet is heading feels like the deepest sleep of all.
I am not american btw. Instead of turning every scientific point into a personal insult or political jab, maybe ask why this topic is so controversal in the first place. It doesnt help to distract from a conversation we all need to be having, especially if we care about the future. This future will not be comfortable and peaceful otherwise.
The triggers I indicated on are asteroid impact, massive volcanism, oceanic anoxia. Warming does not just happen out of nowhere. It is driven by physical events and these are measurable.
Not quite. We are cooler than the hottest periods in Earth’s deep past (like the Cretaceous), but we are warmer than at any point in at least the last 125.000 years. Again, the problem is we are rising too fast.
One of the biggest problems in the whole discussion is that some people insist on still using the outdated term ‘global warming’. Climate change is more appropriate. Not only are summers getting hotter, winter storms are getting more extreme, as well.
Add to that the fact that a whole lot of people can’t grasp the difference between climate and weather. Makes my butt itch when some slack-jawed yokel in N. Dakota says, in the middle of February. “There ain’t no such thing as global warming, there’s 5 feet of snow on the ground.” Well, DUH!
