This is a system to improve skill tree branching to each skill and beccome more of an actual “tree” haha…
I will also incorporate other systems ive proposed as well that go hand in hand with this updated skill tree system suggestion.
As you progress through a skill, it branches at every 5 ,10 , and15 skill levels… up to a max.
At every 5 lvls it branches to 2 node that you can select that change the way a skill behaves or applies dmg.
Sort of how there are just 2 path nodes per skill now… Itll do that ever 5 lvls.
The upgrade nodes to add burn, chill, shock, vuln, shoot twice, crit chance, etc…
*This is also a perfect opportunity to even add in aspects and tempers at the higher skill rank levels… (Aspects and tempers should e be added to paragon as well)…
Then at max lvl of a skill, a custom fusion node opens up allowing you to select another skill to fuse together on cast.
*Yes we will need a lot more skill points.
Skill point solutions ( below)
1st solution:
You can unlock extra points in paragon maybe. Or more skill points every 5 paragon levels or something…
2nd solution:
Also i suggested a soul gem crystal system to where you extract demon souls to level up a gem. Once full you can use it for enchantment and blacksmilthing purposes…
It basically will add a custom temper, aspect, or enchantment slot to gear where theres no RNG and you select exactly what you want…
*eventually unlocking another skill point at a max level gem… this helps build into this new skill tree system.

3rd solution:
Skills level by use. So you just need skill points to unlock then just use them to level up.
(Also glyphs should lvl by use)
