Unable to refund skill points. Error message:
You cannot refund a node that is required to keep the cluster unlocked.
For example, I have 5/5 skill points into Frozen Orb. No other secondary notes enabled on it. I can not refund a single point from it to make it, for example, 4/5. I’ve even unequipped all gear. No difference, same error message.
Edit: Patch 1.0.2.42131 is out today and has fixed this problem. Beta testing is NOT fun. You are welcome Blizzard.
Is it because you putting 5 points into that cluster unlocked another cluster that you have skill points invested in? I believe once you add enough points into a skill block, it unlocks the next block of skill abilities and if you have allocated skill points into this new block, you can’t remove the prerequisite points from the block that allowed you to open it.

Understood, but this is not the case. The tree does not mandate point minimum in any nodes. I’m level 34 at the moment, so I’ve reached the bottom of the tree and have full access. But what if I want to switch from Frozen Orb to Lighting? Nope I can’t, not allowed.
