So running a LS Sorcerer build and recently started noticing that I sometimes have to hit a button 2-3 times to get a skill to cast. Latency is normal. No rubber banding at all. No visible lag on screen. Just hit the button and nothing happens, have to hit it again sometimes twice.
Any suggestions?
There are known problems that sometimes while casting or doing other things, some skills won’t activate when pressed.
But if you are just standing there hitting the key and nothing happens and its the only skill button you are using then…
Try binding the skill to a different key to see if its the keyboard causing the issue.
If its a wireless keyboard, try a wired one as a test. (if you can)
Restart your Windows computer. Do not shut it down, but actually choose “Restart” from the power options. Very important.
By default, Windows 10 and 11 use this dumb feature called Fast Start. Its like a mini-hibernation so that you computer can start a tiny bit faster. So when you “Shut down” your computer, you close some apps, and the computer hibernates and powers off.
This was mostly introduced to help speed up the startup time when your computer is running on a HDD. Its mostly useless with SSDs. The speed difference isn’t that great then.
The problem is, it leaves some Windows processes active, and doesn’t close things down properly. And the longer between proper restarts of Windows, the more screwy Windows can get which can affect how some programs and Windows itself works.
Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried a full restart. Makes no difference. It happens with skills bound to the mouse or keyboard, both of which are wired. This issue isn’t present in any other game. Just D4.
Same issue here with the addition of rubber banding every few minutes. Pretty much insta death outside of town. There has been no acknowledgement from Blizzard or solutions that work as far as I know. Most of us are just waiting for season 6 to see if the issues are resolved.
