Skill aiming vs D3

I don’t know what particularly it is, but aiming skills with sticks felt a bit off compared to Diablo 3. I think D3 with pad is state of the art for this kind of game, but D4 didn’t capture the same feeling in my opinion.

I’m not sure if there if there’s some kind of “soft target lock” now, as sometimes it felt like I was not able to upheaval the backline slightly different direction than the target on my face.

Not really constructive critique here as I’m don’t know what it is exactly, but in case someone has ran into same feeling, please describe your findings here

Yes targeting on controller with a lot of skills is terrible. This is why a lot of us are asking for mouse and keyboard support!

You missed the point here.
It was compared to D3. Did you play D3? Guess not.

M&K on console is bullsh*t. Go buy a PC if you want to use M&K.

They actually solved the skill aiming problem in Diablo Immortal , hopefully they ll apply the same aiming system with controller in diablo 4

What you had in D3 was very snappy aiming, it was very forgiving and would even hit a target if you were facing the wrong way. D4 makes it so you have to be facing your target to cast certain skills or you will cast them in the wrong direction and waste resources.

So if you are trying to run away from a mob or elite enemy and you want to hit them you need to turn and face them in order to do it. That doesn’t mean you have to wait but it does mean you have to press the general direction of the enemy while firing off your desired skill.

You can also utilize targeting and highlight your enemy with R3 and cycle through your targets that way for certain skills but keep in mind if you target the wrong enemy that is where the skill is going to cast. I’ve have many mobs where it’s grabbed an enemy while cycling and it jumps behind me throwing off the whole cycle of targets. Or had the enemy I wanted to catch in an AOE shift as I’m casting an miss the AOE entirely.

Welcome to console life!
