I had a lower lvl piece of gear with the skeletal mage blizzard aspect on it. On that lower level piece of gear 534 damage was near the high end of the damage range. I removed the aspect and imprinted it on a current level piece of gear (lvl 55 sacred gloves). And ended up with 534 damage with a listed range of 1116 - 1399. Literally says “…cast a blizzard that deals 534 [1,166 - 1,399] cold damage…”
I think aspects can be lowered effectiveness if imprinted on a higher tier piece of gear (sacred/ancestral). Try matching the tier of the aspect with the tier of the item.
You literally imprint what you removed, it doesn’t reroll when removed and reapplied, I thought that was pretty obvious.
I goofed and made the same mistake thinking it scaled. But in that same instance i figured out its literally copy and paste lmao.
Would be waaay too easy if it just scaled. Do i wish it did though? Of course.
This is a bug with the shown range of the aspect on the new item.
You extracted the 534 damage correctly and only can imprint this exact value to the new item. But by mistake the new item shows the damage range of the aspect it would have if found on the powerlevel of the new item.
Is that a mistake though? I feel like it is pretty useful info to have.
Before more people complaining about bugs with shown range and acutal value i think the range should show the old value even if then you dont have the information how high the value could actually be.
But this value and range topic becomes even more fun as i already stated in another thread:
The aspects from the codex maybe have a bug, mabye a fun feature. These only scale with level from the character who imprints them. But as it seems this scaling in comparison to the item powerlevel scaling seems to be off. As for “low level” characters there seems to be everything as it should but as you get above level 80 the aspects with flat x values from the codex are getting values way above found items. As for the “gives x barrier when attacking an elite” aspect it gives about 4k barrier on a item powerlevel ~800 and you nearly wont find a item with more than 4,5k. But on my level 91 druid i could imprint this aspect from the codex with 6,3k barrier, now with level 93 it already gives 6,8k barrier. This works the same for all flat x value aspects from the codex. And it only scales with the character level of the char who doeas the imprinting. I could give yellow level 5 armor from my new hunter into the chest and take it with my druid to give this level 5 item the aspect with nearly 7k barrier and it shows range 89-177. Which is not this brilliant as the max barrier seems to scale with max hp but i also could take a yellow level 5 ring and imprint a offensive hunter aspect to always trigger a 3k dmg explosion on imbuements, range 38-75.
