Something that has a replayable story, is multiplayer, hack-and-slash… Basically, what we were all hoping D4 would be.
So, what’s everyones suggestions?

If it’s gotta be an arpg then the only thing like Diablo that has a constant stream of seasonal content is probably going to be Path of Exile. There is a lot of stuff in PoE that is done a whole lot better than the newer, prettier D4. In fact I would go as far as saying the only things that Diablo does better are story/lore (by a mile but that is such a small part of the total play time) and graphics. By graphics I mean backgrounds and character models in particular. PoE actually has infinitely more skills with a lot of different (and satisfying) looking effects.
Personally if I sit the season out I am going to take an arpg break and play Pillars of Eternity maybe before checking Starfield out (best of all I can play all of that with my GamePass sub).

Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, Lost Ark (Sort of), Undecember. The world has no shortage of ARPGs and every single one is better than D4 in its current state.
Just wait for path of exile 2. In the meantime i play tears of the kingdom.

If you haven’t checked it out yet - Last Epoch is a fantastic ARPG that serves as a nice in-between of PoE and Diablo in terms of complexity, it’s also getting its big 1.0 release in the next few months (not confirmed yet) which brings 2 new classes and huge endgame advancements.
PoE’s issue is that PoE 2 is coming very soon which changes a lot of the base mechanics so if you’re not already familiar it might just be a waste to try and learn it now.
Hell even Torchlight Infinite is a fun blast for a few days, didn’t catch me as a long-term investment type of game though.
Not that I’m going anywhere, buy another vote for Last Epoch.

Just curious, isn’t Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam since 2020? Is the one coming out soon is a different game with the same title?
Not sure why Wolcen gets so much hate, but it’s pretty fun imo, and it actually has a summon necro that isn’t garbage like it is in D4.
D3 is a better game.
Lost Ark is D4 but with better skill animations and more heart. It has all the same timed multiplayer events PLUS group instances.

I don’t know if it’s a fun game to play but currently, I believe watching wet paint dry would be a better game to play than D4.
And I hear that watching wet paint dry has much better endgame than D4 too!
Man try Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem while the rate is low .
In 1 year they make insane progress and the quality is better than D4

Man… I really gotta say, New World has come A LONG way from launch, its a one time purchase, and it is entertaining as heck. Not super hack n slash, its an MMO, but its a little piece of entertaining nugget.
