Since blizzard ruined Inarius character, what if

What if Tyrael took over an order of paladins who are actually good, as opposed to the church of light who are fanatics?

He would be the link of the high heavens with the sanctuary.

Indeed the game and the lore need more representatives of the light.
It’s very dark and savage theme.
Barbarians and Druids are cousins in savagery.
Rogues are malicious.
Sorcerers are not “good guys” exactly.
Necromancer are too dark.

at least a single light themed class this game must have

No he is an angel again.

They can’t ruin him too much if he didn’t really have any presence in the series until now. They didn’t do anything with him, just like Rathma. Those are huge squandered opportunities no doubt.

Narratively I think it was intentional to keep the focus on Lilith. In an expansion we will then have a fallen Inarius focus. Tyrael is likely to appear at some point. This is all thematically tied together and adding the paladin/crusader class at the same time.

Wrong.
“I knew Inarius long ago - when he was still among the angels. But he grew weary of battling the demons after a time, and he began to secretly conspire with demons in order to forge a peace. The demoness Lilith became his greatest ally in the Hells, and many other demons and angels joined his cause.”

He went from this /, to this /

“AAAAAAAAA I’m handsome, everyone should look up to me, nobody’s better than me!!!
I abandoned all my creed and value the laws of the high heavens to follow what I truly believe… but now… sanctuary abomination, I’m going back with my fellow angels, bye”

Having him mentioned in background lore is not making him a focus, having an appearance, or being utilized in any way other than background noise. I’m NOT WRONG. This was his first appearance in the games and they didn’t have him do anything but float around. They’d have to make him do things and develop some kind of personality first so they have the material to ruin him in the first place.

Thats why i didn’t mentioned the word focus.
You didn’t say either.

“Focus” is not even close to “Any presence” meaning, hes presence is enough and bigger and more relevant than many other characters, as deckard cain for example.

We’re done here. You’re looking for an argument while I agree with you he was poorly done. This is a pointless back and forth.

Paladin/Crusader isn’t going to happen. Iirc they said or wrote somewhere that rather than bringing old classes again, they’re going to focus on completely new ones.

I’m not looking for a fight, you just misplaced the words and what you meant.

I don’t know about your culture, but “any presence” has a drastic difference to “focus” in mine.

Yes, Inarius is not the protagonist in any game or book in the series, but he is still more relevant than the entire Angiris Council, there are more stories about him than Tyrael who is Blizzard’s darling.

He was tortured and now is full of regrets. What do you expect? For him to be the typical Angel with high values? He stopped caring about his offspring, and Lilith only cared about her firstborned.

Big misstep in my opinion. A holy warrior is an iconic Diablo class archetype. For wanting to bring in new classes, they sure didn’t start off very well.

This is the truth. It is sad how Blizzard goes, story wise, with important characters. There is always this build up that turns into Luke Skywalker in the sequels.

I would’ve loved a nice combination as well (with the iconic flame aura! :D), but it is how it is ^^ Let’s wait and see what they come up with. Maybe it’s good.

This is not a free ticket to do a 180° character change without consequences.
“He was torture, therefore anything can happen… so its ok”

He cares for his children, after all he chose to nerf the nephalems rather than bring about their extinction.

Blizzard came into contradiction with the character with the outcome of D4.

He abandoned all values of High Heavens to seek peace. Soon proving that he doesn’t put the laws of high heaven as a priority.

Blizzard came into contradiction with the character with the outcome of D4.

D3 Inarius + Lilith lore were so nice. D4 could be a story about those two trying to find peace in the middle of an ever going war but no, let’s have more “me fight you because reasons”, “me dead after saying some profound bs”…
I said it once, and will always say again, Diablo lore is great, the narrative and the story itself is horrible.

Seems likely that they’ll have at least one of them. All the classes in the game have been in previous games. “Rogue” is basically the Amazon from D2 (and some Demon Hunter from D3) so that’s not really “new”.

Someone didn’t read any of the diablo lore books. Sin wars has him acting pretty accurate to how the game portrays him. Consider that with him being tortured for thousands of years, no surprise he’s filled with some hate and malice.

I double on that one, Angiris is just irrelevant as always, which is weird… Like, they are in a eternal war with hell, but when anything important happens they are nowhere to be seen like do they even want to win?

His presence was fine. He was an interesting character.

You haven’t even read the thread, how can you say I haven’t read the book?

I already elaborated on the subject.
